Exoprimal is beginning to reveal more of its details with the premiere of a brand new trailer. The new footage of the highly anticipated dinosaur-slaying Capcom title sheds more light on the game's actual story, as well as revealing new exosuits, dinosaurs, and more.

The new Exoprimal trailer was released during the Tokyo Games Show 2022. The first physical version of the event since 2019, Capcom's presentations have been taking full advantage of the return to normalcy. The developer has had quite the robust catalog on display, revealing new details for titles like Street Fighter 6, Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, in addition to Exoprimal.

The roughly two-and-a-half minute story trailer opens up with narration explaining Exoprimal's premise, which is that hordes of dinosaurs have been appearing all over the world via space-time distortions, caused by the malfunctioning sinister AI called Leviathan. Members of the player's exosuit squad, The Hammerheads, begin speaking, informing that the Aibius corporation (creator of both exosuits and Leviathan) has hundreds of exofighters "running around" with fluid allegiances. Interspersed with some new gameplay footage, the trailer indicates The Hammerheads are at the mercy of Leviathan's omnipresence, aided by a mysterious exofighter named Durban, who nearly reveals himself at the trailer's end.

The Exoprimal story trailer also reveals a few new dinosaurs players will be facing. Two recognizable enemy additions come in the form of the Dilophosaurus, the acid-spitting dino made famous in the original Jurassic Park film, and the Carnotaurus, a large predator that essentially looks like a Tyrannosaurus Rex with horns. The pair of prehistoric creatures joins the array of other dinosaurs shown in Exoprimal's earlier gameplay trailer, which showcases fearsome foes like Velociraptors, Pteranadons, Triceratops, and the enhanced Neosaurs.

Additionally, the Exoprimal story trailer reveals a pair of new exosuits, in the form of the Murasame and Skywave. Murasame, a tank class, is a red suit modeled after a samurai, with a massive blade to match. Skywave is a new support class exosuit with the power of flight, along with abilities to hamper enemy movement, seen on full display in the new trailer. The two new exosuits bring the total number of options to eight, adding onto the Barrage and Vigilant exosuits revealed during the Capcom showcase in June.

While some Capcom fans were initially in an uproar that Exoprimal has no connection to Dino Crisis, opinion of the title seems to have become much more favorable as more about the game is revealed. While still a ways away from actually releasing, Capcom may have the makings of another hit IP on its hands.

Exoprimal releases in 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
