Could you imagine being stranded on a boat with two strangers? That's enough to make anybody seasick. The upcoming action-thriller Into the Deep brings these fears to life.

The 91-minute movie follows partygoer Jess (Ella-Rae Smith) and her encounter with a mysterious stranger named Ben (Matthew Daddario). He takes her to his home—a boat that’s docked nearby—and when the young woman wakes up the following morning, she finds herself miles from the shore.

In the previously released trailer, Ben seems apologetic for the happening and the two attempt to make the most of the situation, but as time passes, their budding romance is interrupted by another stranger, Lexie, who is found injured in the water (the character is played by Jessica Alexander following her recent mind blowing performance in A Banquet). After being rescued by the two, the trio get drunk and "play sexy games." As the night develops, it is revealed that either Ben or Lexie is a dangerous liar, and Jess is stuck at the crossroads in what may be a fight for life and death.

Game Rant was given the opportunity to debut an exclusive clip that shows Ben coaxing Jess into the water during the early hours of their sail. The dreamy guy strips off his shirt and jumps into the ocean, encouraging Jess to do the same. After overcoming her reluctance, Jess jumps in but finds herself in a nightmarish sequence. While underwater, she sees a floating yellow backpack and (seemingly) another person.

Into the Deep marks the directorial debut of Kate Cox and features a script by David Beton, whose other credits include The Banishing and episodes of the long-running British soap opera EastEnders. While Smith and Alexander are fairly fresh to the entertainment scene, this thriller isn't their first rodeo. Smith has starred in television series Into the Bandlands and The Stranger, and Alexander occupied a lead role in the Netflix series Get Even and is currently set to star in the upcoming adaptation of The Little Mermaid, opposite Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy. Daddario is best known for playing Alec Lightwood in the supernatural drama Shadowhunters. Most recently, he starred in the Paramount+ original Why Women Kill—and yes, he is related to the other famous Daddario.

The movie will be distributed by Lionsgate and is executive produced by David Haring, Christian Mercuri, Roman Viaris, and Gareth Williams, with producers Mark Lane, James Harris, Leonora Darby, Sarah Gabriel, and Marc Goldberg.

Recent releases from the distributor include Moonfall, the Nic Cage and Pedro Pascal-led action-comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and Paradise Highway, starring Cameron Monaghan and Morgan Freeman. Future releases from the studio include the horror movie Prey for the Devil, John Wick 4, and the highly-anticipated Hunger Games prequel.

Into the Deep is in theaters, on demand and digital August 26.
