Obi-Wan Kenobi star Ewan McGregor has recently confirmed that his wife, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead, is officially set to join the Star Wars Universe in the Disney Plus series, Ahsoka. While doing so, he predicted how his son may react to McGregor and Winstead being a part of the Star Wars family.

McGregor, who portrayed the iconic Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel films, will also be reprising his role for this May's highly anticipated spin-off show Obi-Wan Kenobi. The series follows recent Disney Star Wars anthology shows such as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. However, it also picks up directly where McGregor's character was last seen in 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. McGregor and Winstead got married just last month, but the two have been together since 2017 when they starred opposite one another in the Fargo series. Winstead has had a long, successful career in Hollywood. She is perhaps most famous for her performances in films such as Final Destination 3 and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Rumors online began spreading earlier this year, speculating that Winstead would be following in her husband’s footsteps and was expected to make an appearance in Ahsoka. The series spotlights the titular character Ahsoka Tano, played by Rosario Dawson, the former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker. Now, in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, McGregor has finally confirmed his wife's impending arrival in the beloved galaxy far, far away. McGregor sat down to discuss the long list of upcoming Disney Plus projects that are to be released in the near future.

During the interview, McGregor jokingly said he was worried his son may rebel against his family now that Winstead has joined the Star Wars family. “My partner, Mary, is doing that Star Wars series with Rosario, and she’s about to start," McGregor stated. "Our little boy has been born into this massive Star Wars family. He will either embrace it or really go the other way. I don’t know, maybe he’ll be a Trekkie!”

Winstead's introduction into the Star Wars Universe is actually not the first time the couple has worked together since meeting on the set of 2017’s Fargo. She recently appeared alongside her husband McGregor in Birds of Prey. Winstead began to forge her own path as a respected action hero in Netflix's Kate. Although McGregor seems more than excited to have his wife join the Star Wars clan, he wouldn’t at all reveal a single hint as to whom she could be playing in the series.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to be released on Disney Plus on May 27th, 2022.
