Evil West has had a gameplay overview released, showcasing a lot of what players can expect in Flying Wild Hog's vampire slaying, action-adventure. Focus Entertainment's Evil West has impressed gamers since being announced during The Game Awards last December, and a recent video continues to instill excitement for the upcoming high-octane title.

Evil West went gold last month, and is now less than a month out from release following a delay earlier in the year. Some outlets and content creators were given the chance to try out a hands-on preview of Evil West, and the resulting sentiment seemed positive regarding the new IP. The praise echoed the response to Flying Wild Hog's previous release, Trek to Yomi, which was commended for its artistry and visual design. Although vastly different, Evil West seems to be continuing the developer's embrace of impressive spectacle.

Uploaded by publisher Focus Entertainment, the gameplay overview trailer welcomes viewers to the vampire infested Wild West, described as a narrative-driven action-adventure by the voice-over, who then goes on to confirm the campaign can be played either solo or cooperatively. A brief introduction to the story and characters follows, stating that players will assume control of Jesse Rentier, a vampire hunter like his father before him. Jesse is an already hardened and well-trained monster slayer, though not one known for abiding by rules. Jesse will be joined by Edgar, a previously retired vampire hunter brought back into the fray, and their partnership seems ripe for development as the story progresses.

At this point the trailer turns from cinematics to gameplay, and details various regions of the Wild West for players to explore, from "vast oil fields to infested mines." It is claimed to be "all about over-the-top" action, with an emphasis on "style and efficiency," providing players with significant customization options in Evil West. Jesse's arsenal will supposedly develop as the Rentier Institute grows, offering players a rifle for pinpointing enemy weak spots, as well as a sawed-off shotgun for more personal confrontations. The Rentier Gauntlet can be used to chain together a lightning-infused melee with powerful ranged attacks, while "dodging, blocking, and parrying."

The trailer concludes by noting that every weapon and tool comes with a skill tree to progress through, meaning that players will likely have plenty to experiment with. An ending montage hints at colossal enemies, brutal cutscenes, and non-stop action in Evil West which is available to pre-order now. Doing so will grant players the "Wild West East" skin pack, unlocking an alternative appearance for Jesse, in addition to a unique weapon skin.

Evil West will be available on November 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
