Evil West has been given a new trailer starring Danny Trejo that tackles some of the video game industry's most controversial issues with unexpected good humor.

Fans got their first look at Evil West at The Game Awards 2020. Developed by Flying Wild Hog, the same studio that produced Shadow Warrior 2, Evil West brings a world where Jesse Rentier is a gunslinger who is humanity's last defense and one of the last agents of a top-secret vampire-hunting institute. With visceral and explosive combat, players will have access to various firearms and devices to face the dangers of the Wild West. And in the new trailer Machete expresses his interest in doing just that.

The new Evil West trailer pokes fun at subjects such as season passes and loot boxes, the latter a controversial subject well-known to Overwatch players, which saw changes with the release of Overwatch 2. Danny Trejo appears sitting in a chair on a film set, being instructed by two Focus Entertainment employees on how to show his excitement about loot boxes to make a good impression on shareholders.

Despite this one of the employees shows the difficulty in explaining to the actor the benefit that players can get from buying a loot box, and his colleague completes the explanation. She then tells Trejo about other benefits that the company has to offer to players, such as season passes, weekly DLC sets, and weekly login bonuses. When she tells Danny Trejo that he will be premiering the new ultra-rare five-star hero card, Machete gets annoyed and says that he "just wants to play a game." Next, the trailer shows a bit more of the frenetic action of Evil West, which will include a two-player online co-op campaign experience. The gameplay shows off different locations and enemies, the protagonist in action with his weapons, and his lightning-powered gauntlet.

The monetization system of the video game industry divides many opinions, so audiences should enjoy the new Evil West trailer with its subtle and humorous critical tone, starring Danny Trejo, who is a beloved actor. The trailer also serves as a warm-up for the release of Evil West, which will release next week.

Evil West is set to release on November 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
