A wave of modern multiplayer horror games have achieved a surprising level of popularity and Evil Dead: The Game is looking to be the next. Like Friday the 13th and Dead by Daylight before it, Evil Dead: The Game is starting by delivering a love letter to cult horror fans. In Evil Dead: The Game's case, that means plenty of nods to the movie franchise. Perhaps to help persuade some of Evil Dead's fanbase, a list of the currently revealed cast of Evil Dead: The Game has been put together.

As collected by Bloody Disgusting's John Squires, six different characters have already been confirmed for Evil Dead: The Game. These characters were confirmed via last year's debut at The Game Awards 2020 and in official screenshots released since. These six characters are likely just the start of those that will be available when Evil Dead: The Game launches, but do offer an idea as to what the game is trying to do.

The game's first character is, of course, Ash Williams. Ash is the protagonist of the Evil Dead franchise and one of the most popular horror film characters in history. The actor behind Ash Williams is Bruce Campbell and Evil Dead: The Game appears to have secured Campbell's likeness for the character. Also notable is that two different versions of Ash Williams have been confirmed so far. The first has The Evil Dead (1981)'s chainsaw hand and shotgun, while the second has older Ash vs. Evil Dead's robotic hand.

The remaining characters are spread across the Evil Dead franchise's history. Cheryl Williams is from both The Evil Dead and Ash vs. Evil Dead and is notable for being the film's first Deadite character. Scotty is another character from The Evil Dead. The armored knight Arthur is the lone confirmed character from Army of Darkness. Then there's both Kelly and Pablo, who are both new characters from the Ash vs. Evil Dead television series.

Obviously, with just six characters revealed, there's plenty of other Evil Dead characters left to bring into the game. Both Evil Dead 2 and the 2013 Evil Dead reboot have full casts that would be welcome by fans. Judging by the cross-film cast already available, it's just a matter of time before everyone's favorites are included.

As for when fans can expect to see more characters planned for Evil Dead: The Game, a gameplay reveal is planned for Thursday, June 10, during the Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live event. The show begins at 11:00 am PT/2:00 pm ET.

Evil Dead: The Game releases in 2021 on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
