Evil Ash is the final boss in Evil Dead: The Game for a good reason. He's an imposing boss that summons skeletons and hits with strong melee attacks. He can dodge like a survivor and bring back his minions, undoing all of the work the survivors have done and putting them in a terrible position.

Unlike the other demon options in Evil Dead: The Game, the necromancer's best unit is the boss. The others play the necessary supporting roles to the king himself. It can be overwhelming to try and build the necromancer from scratch, especially since he relies on a team effort, but by focusing on the key skills, the necromancer is capable of winning the game very early.

Skill Tree

It would be nice if players had access to limitless skill points right off the back, but unfortunately every demon has to choose how to specialize. The necromancer has to make some tough choices. But the community has found that groups of friends in survivor parties have the most trouble against Evil Ash.

The basic and elite units aren't anything too impressive, but their shields limit the number of effective melee weapons. Additionally, the sheer quantity that can spawn at once will overwhelm parties, especially as they try and deal with both Evil Ash and the Flautist.

Gamers across all consoles will recognize that many demons specialize in gradually wearing down the group. That's a great strategy unless the team has a support hero. By investing in Evil Ash and his Skeleton Resurrection ability, the necromancer doesn't give players time to recover between rounds. Evil Ash finishes them all off in one round.

Upgrades

Evil Dead The Game Upgrade Priority For The Necromancer

To set up the perfect situation, the necromancer must first maximize his Infernal Energy upgrade. The idea is that the player will want to cast both minion portals, the flautist, and then finish it off with the boss, Evil Ash. That's easier said than done and getting all of those executed quickly will require a full bar.

Additionally, to stay in Evil Ash long enough to make a difference, players will want to regenerate as much energy as possible after summoning the other three units. After getting this upgrade maxed out, it's all about building up the army and that starts with the Boss upgrade.

Players shouldn't worry about possessing any enemy except for the Boss unless Infernal Orbs are plentiful. These units don't have enough health to make it worth the energy cost. Focus on specific objectives and try and take down the survivors all at once.

Evil Dead: The Game was released on May 13th, 2022, and is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
