And although the PC game will most likely be top-trending for years to come - taken that the franchise was mostly PS-exclusive in the past decade -, fans are eager to see if (and how) the developers utilized the new features of the PS5, such as the DualSense Controller.

5 The Game Takes Place In Scumland

Gungrave G.O.R.E. Location

The franchise's beloved anti-hero, Grave, is known as the world's deadliest hitman. In Gungrave's story, he was killed by his friend Harry, but came back to life by the "necroraise skill". Ultimately he forgot his memories and emotions, and can only remember a name: Asagi Mika. After partnering with Mika, they must take down the drug "SEED", which leads them to a place called Scumland.

But Scumland isn't the only location featured in the game. Players will have to fight their way through Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia as well to permanently shut down the Raven Clan. The story seems to be very strange, but that's expected from a game like Gungrave, and players can't wait to see what the storyline will bring to light. According to creators, the game was made as a standalone story for those who are new to Gungrave's world but is ultimately a resurrection of the franchise for all the veteran players out there.

The cinematic effects have been drastically modernized, and the mechanics seem to be effortless and smooth. There will be a range of various weapons (including the well-known pistols and other classic elements), and of course, a range of melee combat moves. Compared to Gungrave: Overdose, and VR, the changes are monumental.

3 The Visual Design Has Been Significantly Modified

While the hero of the game still rocks his basic style and well-known accessories, it looks like the design of the character has gone through drastic changes (for the better). He still has his favorite highly oversized twin pistols, as well as the coffin chained to his back, but overall, he looks more polished and the tiny details have been designed masterfully.

The entire game has an overwhelming design, with various enemies, robots, weapons, and movement options, compared to the game's predecessors. The development team also collaborated with some amazing designers to perfect the items and characters in the game, and it shows.

Most importantly, she's working on the villains "Yensen", but since then she stated that she's also involved in designing other characters and bosses of the game. She's even working on a special design for Grave, but it's unknown what future plans are regarding the design of the characters. Fans will have to pay extra close attention to grab the expertly polished details.

1 The Inspiration Behind The Design Of Yensen Superior

As mentioned above, Ikumi Nakamura has taken on the challenging task of designing Yensen Superior. Among the multitude of deadly enemies, some even equipped with the power to transform and evolve into "Superior versions" of themselves, Yensen might be the most ruthless of them all. The character is absolutely fascinating, and undoubtedly the most epic villain of the franchise. It's unnerving that a Superior version of Yensen is under production.

The inspiration for the villain came mostly from his upbringing in Hing Kong. Nakamura stated in an interview, that she was inspired by Bian Lian, a traditional form of Chinese entertainment, where faces would change in the blink of an eye. This ultimately inspired the movement of the villain in battle. She also said she was later inspired by the mask of Rorschach from the movie Watchmen. All of these put together will surely bring to life a gruesome villain never before seen by fans of the franchise. The whole project seems positively outrageous, and players can't wait to see what these changes will mean for the gaming experience. Without a doubt, this will be even better than anticipated.

Gungrave G.O.R.E. is said to be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S in 2022 (exact date yet unknown).
