Nintendo and Build-a-Bear Workshop are two very different companies. For the last few years, though, a partnership between the two has brought iconic Nintendo characters to the shelves of the do-it-yourself stuffed animal shop. While many are still available to this day, some have become rare items and can only be bought via third-party sellers.

Nintendo's characters stand out amongst others for their colorful, recognizable designs, perfect for a line of stuffed toys – plus, many of these Build-a-Bears are customizable just like non-Nintendo bears, and the Pokemon toys each come with their own trading card.

13 Bowser - Super Mario Series

Bowser Nintendo Build A Bear

King of the Koopas Bowser was included with the 2017 Super Mario lineup of Build-a-Bears. He was introduced alongside Mario, Peach, and Luigi bears as well as two different Yoshis in the second Nintendo collection brought to the shop.

You can't get Bowser through Build-a-Bear Workshop currently, and most third-party sites have a few listed for over $100.

12 Eevee and Its Evolutions - Pokemon Series

Eevee Nintendo Build A Bear

Eevee was the second Pokemon toy added to Build-a-Bear Workshop's Nintendo lineup, right after Pikachu. If you don't like Eevee's original form, though, Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon stuffed toys were also made.

However, only Eevee is currently available at Build-a-Bear Workshop. Toys of the other three evolutions can only be found through third-party sellers.

11 Mew - Pokemon Series

Mew Nintendo Build A Bear

Mew is the original legendary Pokemon, introduced way back at the very start of the franchise. The Build-a-Bear version of Mew can be customized with a hoodie and a little mystic gown, as well as other accessories that can be bought in the shop.

It also says its name like in the anime when you press its hand. Mew is currently available at Build-a-Bear Workshop in an online-only deal.

10 Pikachu/Pichu - Pokemon Series

Pichu Nintendo Build A Bear

Pikachu was the first Nintendo character to ever be brought over to Build-a-Bear Workshop back in 2015, and a few years later Pichu also made their debut at the shop. They are the most popular Pokemon Build-a-Bears, but Pichu is rarer than Pikachu.

Pikachu is available officially through Build-a-Bear Workshop, but the limited-run Pichu can only be found elsewhere on the internet.

9 Mario/Luigi/Peach Bears - Super Mario Series

Mario Luigi Peach Nintendo Build A Bear

The Mario, Luigi, and Peach bears all came to Build-a-Bear Workshop in 2017 in the second wave of Nintendo characters brought to the shop. They are the only Nintendo Build-a-Bears that are actually bears, sort of like a take on the characters rather than a direct copy of their designs.

All three were once available in a bundle deal, but now can only be found via third-party sales mostly as individual toys.

8 Psyduck - Pokemon Series

Psyduck Nintendo Build A Bear

Psyduck is, of course, the foolhardy psychic Pokemon from the first generation series. The Build-a-Bear version of this Pokemon was introduced in 2019 with Snubbull and comes with a wee rain jacket.

Psyduck is unfortunately not available officially through Build-a-Bear Workshop, but only goes for around $30 on various third-party sites.

7 Green/Blue Yoshi - Super Mario Series

Green Blue Yoshi Nintendo Build A Bear

The Green and Blue Yoshis came to Build-a-Bear Workshop in the second wave of Nintendo characters alongside Bowser, Mario, Luigi, and Peach. They are just about the same in every way except color, the only downside being that there aren't more colors!

Unfortunately, only the Green Yoshi is available officially through Build-a-Bear Workshop, while the Blue Yoshi saw a more limited run.

6 Toad - Super Mario Series

Toad Nintendo Build A Bear

Toad is simultaneously one of the weirdest and most lovable characters in all of Nintendo, and the perfect Mario character to take on a plush form. Toad snuck in alongside other major Mario characters in the second wave of Nintendo characters back in 2017.

The Toad Build-a-Bear went out of circulation a few years ago and now sells for a lofty price, over $70 on most third-party sites.

5 Tom Nook - Animal Crossing

Tom Nook Isabelle Nintendo Build A Bear

Tom Nook is the ever maligned owner of the various capitalistic enterprises in the Animal Crossing series, but that doesn't mean he isn't loved by everyone who plays the game. It's hard to hate a cute raccoon, even if does take all of your money.

Tom Nook came to Build-a-Bear Workshop recently alongside Isabelle, but the two characters were so popular that they were out of stock mere moments after becoming available online.

4 Isabelle - Animal Crossing

Isabelle Nintendo Build A Bear

Isabelle was introduced to Build-a-Bear Workshop alongside Tom Nook in 2021 in a collection focusing on Animal Crossing New Horizons. She won't announce the day's news, but she is still sure to brighten up any gaming space.

While both Isabelle and Tom Nook sold out practically instantly, Build-a-Bear Workshop has confirmed that more are on the way alongside a new Animal Crossing character.

3 Piranha Plant - Super Mario Series

Piranha Plant Nintendo Build A Bear

The Piranha Plant from various entries in the Super Mario series has hardly ever been turned into an official, big-name plush. At Build-a-Bear Workshop, though, the Piranha Plant got its chance back in 2018.

It's a much smaller pre-stuffed toy than others in the Nintendo lineup, and even though it isn't available officially, third-party sellers have this one listed at very reasonable prices.

2 Snubbull - Pokemon Series

Snubbull Nintendo Build A Bear

Snubbull was introduced alongside Psyduck in a newer wave of Pokemon toys at Build-a-Bear Workshop, and it's certainly one of the cutest and most fitting Nintendo characters brought to stuffed animal form.

Snubbull is very customizable thanks to its regular body shape, and is available through Build-a-Bear Workshop directly.

1 Giant Snorlax - Pokemon Series

Jumbo Snorlax Nintendo Build A Bear

The Giant Snorlax Build-a-Bear was a limited run plush that stood at a full 2 feet tall (and, fittingly, just as wide). There was a smaller version released too, but it quite literally lives in the shadow of its larger, more cuddly, more bedtime-appropriate big brother.

The Giant Snorlax isn't available through Build-a-Bear Workshop anymore, and it's one of the most expensive to buy elsewhere – most third-party sites have it listed anywhere from $150 to $300.
