PAX West proved to be a leaky ship for Destiny 2, as a number of weapons and armor leaked. This includes everything from an exotic rocket launcher and a hand cannon to the controversial Garden of Salvation raid armor. In light of everything and the forthcoming launch of Shadowkeep, it seems Bungie simply decided to go ahead and showcase all of the armor for the fall season.
Bungie even revealed what sort of activities would be connected to each Armor set, detailing which were connected to activitions on the Moon and Iron Banner, for example. However, this isn't all that Destiny 2 showcased for the new armor sets.
Alongside the new armor reveals (which can be seen below), Destiny 2 also revealed every set that will be reprised for the new Armor 2.0 system when Shadowkeep launches. It's a rather extensive list, so combined with the new armor sets joining the game, players may find themselves taking new approaches in Shadowkeep.
The new Armor 2.0 system will see the following sets updated: Year 1 Crucible and ornaments, Year 1 Vanguard and ornaments, Black Armor forge, Gambit (regular, Forsaken, and Season of the Drifter), all Mengarie armor, Raid armor (Leviathan, Eater of Worlds, Spire of Stars, Last Wish, Scourge of the Past, and Crown of Sorrow), and finally, destination armors for the EDZ, Titan, Nessus, Io, Mercury, Mars (Vendor and Escalation Protocol), Tangled Shore, and Dream City. In addition, here are the new armors:
Dreambane Armor Set (Moon Activities)
Garden of Salvation Armor Set (Raid)
Substitutional Armor Set (Seasonal Activities/Season Rank)
Phenotype Plasticity Universal Ornament Set (Premium Season Rank)
Iron Will Armor Set (Iron Banner)
Empyrean Cartographer Universal Ornament Set
Based on the designs alone, it seems many-a-Destiny 2 player may already have a choice of armor to pursue, yet there's likely an equal number waiting to see what these armor sets can do. Either way, it's clear that fashion is important in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep releases October 1, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
