Netflix has officially revealed the brand-new chilling trailer for its upcoming limited series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, starring Evan Peters as the destructive serial killer. The upcoming series reunites Peters with American Horror Stories co-creator Ryan Murphy, who serves as the executive producer for the bone-chilling exploration into the horrific true crimes of the murderous figure.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story will center around Peters as the titular character and will examine the systemic failures of the Wisconsin police that allowed the serial killer to operate in plain sight for over a decade. The new 10-episode Netflix limited series will primarily be told from the point of view of the victims that crossed paths with the heinous figure. Dahmer morbidly took the lives of seventeen innocent individuals between 1978 and 1991 before his eventual arrest.

The trailer opens with Dahmer bringing an unsuspecting man back to his apartment, who instantly highlights an unsettling smell in the room. As the camera maneuvers through the setting, audiences witness a glimpse of a blood-soaked power drill, foreshadowing the abominable danger. "Please don't go," are the chilling words that echo from the KC & The Sunshine Band musical number as the WandaVision star locks the door, setting the stage for the horrific true events that followed.

Alongside Peters, the limited series will feature Claws star Niecy Nash, who will portray Glenda Cleveland, the serial killer's inquisitive neighbor. "I hear screaming coming from your apartment," she states at one blood-curdling point in the brand-new official footage, highlighting her incredibly grave suspicions of the American Horror Story alum. The upcoming limited series will also feature appearances from Richard Jenkins, Molly Ringwald, Michael Learned, and Penelope Ann Miller.

As stated, American Horror Story co-creator Murphy will serve as executive producer for the limited series, alongside Ian Brennan. The two co-wrote the first four episodes of the upcoming true-crime series and have previously worked together to co-create a number of notable series, such as the Netflix original series The Politician, which starred Dear Evan Hansen leading man Ben Platt. It will be interesting to see what the two well-known and seasoned collaborators are able to create in this unsettling exploration into one of the most nefarious serial killers in American history.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story will hit Netflix on September 21, 2022.
