A recent TV spot offered a new look at the powers of the superheroes coming in Marvel Studios' Eternals. The Eternals are the newest group of superheroes being introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The Eternals are a race of aliens created by the celestials, who were also responsible for creating the deviants and humans. Many hardcore fans know that in the comics, Thanos has both Eternals and Deviant DNA. Eternals may or may not explore Thanos' backstory, but if it does, it can lead to a deeper understanding of the cosmos for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Eternals will introduce multiple new heroes, all with different backgrounds, powers, personalities, and quirks. The powers shown off in the latest Eternals TV spot all look very compelling for a superhero team that will be needed to defend the Earth. The powers on display were super speed, flight, transmutation/alteration, cosmic swords, cosmic spears, cosmic shields projectiles, and laser beams.

Expect to see many more powers when Eternals releases this November, as one of Marvel's strongest beings get introduced to the world. The powers in the TV spot have fans expecting very intense fight scenes that will happen throughout the movie. The attention to detail in the variety of the powers and the appearances of the characters may set this movie apart from Marvel Studios' other big-name heroes. This film is taking characters who are typically not utilized in Marvel projects and turning them into worldwide phenomenons in a similar way to how the Guardians of the Galaxy went from relative unknowns to A-list heroes. The TV spot builds more anticipation for Eternals as its release approaches.

This year, Marvel Studios has once again dominated the box office despite movie theaters having limited attendance. Shang-Chi and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow both were fighting for the number one spot in U.S. theaters. If both of those films did well, then many should expect Eternals to be in a similar boat when it comes to success at the box office, as it is a Marvel Studios film, after all. Having "unknown" superheroes would usually work against a film, which is probably the reason why Marvel Studios decided to cast well-known actors/actresses in the project.

Eternals will, however, have the roadblock of introducing multiple heroes at once. Usually, Marvel Studios is known for doing one hero at a time with solo films or introducing new characters in supporting roles for other projects. This film, however, will introduce multiple heroes all at once, and assuming they all survive, they may make a lasting impact on the MCU when they get introduced this fall. Marvel Studios will have to make sure that they do a good job at making the characters have a lasting impact, where each of them can stand on their own rather than only being associated as part of a collective.

Eternals will debut in theaters on November 5th, 2021.
