Marvel Studios' Eternals is nearing the $400 million mark worldwide, which is great for a film that brought ten unheard-of heroes to the silver screen. Now, Eternals is also reportedly coming to Disney Plus soon, so fans will be able to watch it from the comfort of their home.

Eternals follows a race of hidden superpowered aliens who are tasked with defending Earth from the threat of the Deviants, which were created by the Celestials. In fact, the Celestials not only created Deviants, but they also created the human race and the Eternals. However, the Eternals are instructed to avoid interfering with any human conflict unless a Deviant is involved, which can cause some conflict among the group.

According to a report by Streamer Guider, Eternals will be available on Disney Plus worldwide starting on January 12, 2022. The outlet notes that Disney Plus confirmed the release date to them, but neither Disney nor Marvel Studios have made an official announcement on the matter at this time. Earlier this year, Disney announced its feature films for 2021, including Eternals, would have a minimum 45-day exclusive theatrical release. If reports on Eternals' Disney Plus release date are true, then the Marvel Studios will have been in theaters for approximately 70 days before being made available to stream.

Disney Plus is reportedly getting bigger next year with its many unannounced upcoming projects. If rumors are true, then Eternals would be streaming on Disney Plus alongside many other Marvel Studios projects, including the currently streaming Hawkeye series. While Eternals was met with a lot of criticism, it did pretty well at the box office. The film introduced a new world, new characters, new powers, and opened a new aspect of Marvel storytelling yet to be explored. Even if there isn't a sequel, fans will hopefully get to see these stories and characters carry on in other MCU projects. There's a lot of pieces in place here thanks to this film, so Marvel hopefully capitalizes on it in the future.

Eternals may potentially pick up a 'second wind' on Disney Plus that shows the film is popular in ways box office results can't. Still, $400 million is nothing to ignore, especially during an ongoing pandemic that prevents movie theaters from selling out like they used to.

Right now, Marvel continues to only be in competition with itself. The films are battling each other for the number one spot and the shows continue to bring fans to the popular Disney Plus streaming app. Disney Plus also is building its content by continuing to increase its investments inside the Star Wars universe. Book of Boba Fett is set to debut this holiday season and along with what Marvel Studios has in store this season and the potential release of Eternals, fans have a lot to look forward to.

Eternals is currently available to watch in theaters.
