Lia McHugh, who plays Sprite in Eternals, has posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the film. The image revealed that Dane Whitman (Kit Harington) originally had a little more screen time than was shown in the final cut of Eternals.

Dane Whitman is a character from the comic books who ends up becoming the Black Knight. This character wields a mystical sword, has genius level intellect, and is an expert-level swordsman. In Eternals, it was teased that he is more than meets the eye at the end of the film during the post-credits scene.

Eternals didn't give Dane Whitman much screen time or impact on the plot, and many fans were wondering why. However, McHugh's post suggests there was at least one more scene featuring Harington's Whitman that didn't make the cut. The post includes an image that features Harington, director Chloe Zhao, and McHugh in what looks to be a National History museum. It may not have been too pivotal to the plot, but the scene would be a welcomed addition to the film.

it's clear that Harington's Dane Whitman is meant to be a bigger part of the MCU in a future movie or a bigger project down the road. Without spoiling, an important new character made their Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut in the post-credits scene with Dane Whitman and it would be cool to see those two work together at some point. While Eternals producers have suggested there won't be any sequels, there's still a good chance some characters from the film will return in a different MCU project.

As far as characters go, the film did a very good job at introducing the Eternals, which was not easy because there were ten different heroes for the director to juggle. Each character had their own personality, powers, struggle, and quirks that set them apart from the rest. Seeing them all fight differently was compelling, as they all approached battles differently. Ikaris, for example, is more abrasive as he charges head first with his super strength and super flight, while someone like Kingo has to stay back to give himself distance and time to charge up energetic projectiles to shoot at enemies.

Eternals teased a lot of what's to come in the MCU, which is a common theme for the movies because the story keeps getting bigger. A new Eternals character was also introduced at the end of the movie, one who may shake up the world of the MCU going forward. This will definitely not be the last time that fans see the Eternals.

Eternals is currently in theaters.
