The Deadlands DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online introduces a variety of new armor sets and item sets for players to try out in Mehrunes Dagon's personal plane of Oblivion. Some of them are craftable, like the Iron Flask set, while others are Mythic-level items only found through Scrying, like the Spaulder of Ruin.

There are three sets in The Elder Scrolls Online's Deadlands DLC that can be found almost anywhere in the new zone, though, the Hexos Ward set being among them. As a Medium armor set, the Hexos Ward set improves Critical Chance and damage across the board with a full set bonus that seems perfect for Solo players.

The Hexos Ward Set Bonuses

ESO Hexos Ward Armor Set Guide
  • Type: Medium Armor, Jewelry, Weapons
  • Two Items Equipped: Adds 657 Critical Chance
  • Three Items Equipped: Adds 129 Weapon Damage AND Spell Damage
  • Four Items Equipped: Adds 657 Critical Chance
  • Five Items Equipped: Critical Damage creates a shield that can absorb up to 12305 Damage for six seconds. This can happen every seven seconds.

This Medium armor set is oriented entirely around Critical Damage, and as such it improves the player's Critical Chance by 657 at two items equipped, and again at four items equipped. With three items equipped it adds 129 Weapon and Spell damage, but that's hardly the highlight of the new set.

The full set bonus creates a powerful shield that can absorb just over 12000 Damage when the player deals Critical Damage. Because the set increases this chance significantly this bonus procs pretty often, making it a worthwhile set to try out for any player wanting to take on the challenges of Tamriel (and beyond) by themselves.

Acquiring The Hexos Ward Set

ESO Deadlands Armor Set Guide Overworld Hexos Ward
  • Location: Overland Set. Pieces all drop from Delve Bosses, World Bosses, Public Dungeon Bosses, and Trials.
  • Requirements: None

The Hexos Ward set is an Overworld set in the Deadlands DLC, meaning that it is not available through Antiquities or through crafting stations throughout the new zones. To get the pieces to this set, players must go into the Deadlands' two Delves, take on the two World Bosses, down the Wandering Executioner bosses, and take on the Atoll of Immolation.

It's best to get to max level (and CP 160) before hunting down this set so that its bonuses are as maxed out as possible. The Elder Scrolls Online caps armor at Level 50 and Champion Point Level 160, so as long as you're at CP 160 or above you should get the best possible pieces to the Hexos Ward armor set.

The Elder Scrolls Online is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S
