While the new offerings of the Deadlands DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online have been getting all of the attention, the thirty-second major update to the game was also released on November 1st. Update 32 brings some much-requested changes to the MMO, both big and small.

Among these updates are the Armory, which allows multiple builds, a new way for players to hunt Skyshards, and even an overhaul to the way the game rolls for item set loot when downing bosses. There's nothing too game-changing in The Elder Scrolls Online Update 32, but each of the new changes helps to polish the game just a little bit more.

5 Multiple Builds Are Here With The Armory

Possibly the most eagerly-anticipated part of the Deadlands DLC was the introduction of The Elder Scrolls Online's Armory system. This new system allows players to save and load custom-build loadouts on a single character, allowing them to switch Gear, Skills, Champion Points, Attributes, and even Werewolf and Vampire abilities whenever needed. The Armory can be accessed through Armory stations throughout the world, one of which is provided for free through the Crown Store to place in player homes.

Two Armory Slots are given to players for free, allowing them to switch between two builds on a whim, though additional slots can be bought from the Crown Store too. It's incredibly handy to not have to go re-spec every time players want to play their character a little differently, and it can be used to have a crafting-oriented build to let players focus more intently on their damage-oriented abilities in a separate build.

4 An RNG Overhaul Through Curated Item Sets

One major problem many Elder Scrolls Online players had with armor sets was the lengthy (and often unrewarding) grind to complete their sets. In the past, the item pool was totally randomized for armor sets, and players could receive duplicates of pieces they already own.

The Curated Item system introduced in Update 32 changes this significantly. Now, the loot tables will only roll for items a player has not yet collected within a set, making set completion much less of a burden. It practically guarantees that the item players want in a set will eventually drop, though it can still certainly take a long time.

3 Skyshard Locations Are Now Highlighted Nearby

Hunting down Skyshards in The Elder Scrolls Online used to be a task easier said than done unless a player had a Skyshard Map addon installed. Skyshard locations are hinted at in the Zone Guide, but Update 32 makes this process even more streamlined.

Now, when players are close to a Skyshard, it will be highlighted on the world map as well as the compass. The hint for each Skyshard is displayed under the compass icon, too, helping players to locate the specific location of those hidden beams of crystalline light.

2 Combat Music Customization Is Finally Here

ESO Deadlands Update 32 Changes Updates Combat Music Turn Off

One of the most-requested changes to The Elder Scrolls Online finally arrived with Update 32. Combat music in the MMO triggers whenever the player is noticed by an enemy or engages in combat with an NPC. However, the music also interrupts the zone or area music playing.

When traveling through Vvardenfell to its wonderful soundtrack, there's nothing worse than having "Peaceful Waters" interrupted because a Nix-Hound got too close to the road, after all. A new option in the menu allows players to customize combat music throughout the game. Now, players can turn off combat music completely, only play boss music, or keep it on as normal.

1 A Variety Of Performance Updates (And DLSS/DLAA)

ESO Deadlands Update 32 Changes Updates DLSS DLAA Performance

A variety of performance updates were added to the MMO with Update 32, including the addition of DLSS and DLAA support for Nvidia RTX users. The performance updates are wide-ranging and get into the nitty-gritty of optimizing the world for many lower-end players, while DLSS and DLAA support is meant for top-end users who don't have to worry about such things.

DLSS and DLAA are new anti-aliasing techniques that are actually premiering in The Elder Scrolls Online for the first time. Created by Nvidia, DLSS and DLAA use AI upscaling to improve image quality – DLSS runs the game at a lower resolution and uses AI learning to create an anti-aliasing filter, while DLAA uses the normal resolution.

The Elder Scrolls Online is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S
