Escape from Tarkov has recently taken the live streaming community by storm, as it is currently the most viewed game on Twitch and other streaming platforms like Mixer and Facebook Gaming. For readers who may be asking what exactly is Escape from Tarkov, it’s a first-person survival MMO-like game, with elements of PVP and battle royale. While the game has been out in beta for quite a while, it’s only recently gained an incredible amount of traction through live streaming.

Now, the developers behind Escape from Tarkov, Battlestate Games, are giving out free in-game loot drops to players who tune in to watch streamers playing their game on Twitch. A fitting move by the development team, now that the holiday season is officially wrapping up. Getting those free loot drops isn’t all too difficult, but there are a few steps that players need to go through before they can snag their free gear.

About the Event

It is important to say at the top that this promotional event won’t last long. The event runs from now until January 5, at 2:59 pm CST, meaning that players only have about two more days to capitalize on this opportunity for free loot drops. It’s a brilliant move by the development team, as it capitalizes on the game’s current popularity online and gives new players an incentive to join in.

Unfortunately, the promotion is only running through Twitch, despite other sites like Mixer and Facebook Gaming growing in size over the course of 2019. So, players are going to want to stick to Twitch to partake in the event. It’s worth noting that players can watch streams simultaneously and still partake in the event, but this only applies to streaming channels who are participating in the event as well.

Getting Free Loot Drops

As mentioned before, there are a few easy steps to nabbing those free loot drops. Players won't even have to enter a raid and extract successfully to earn their drops. First, players simply need to own the game and create a profile on Escape from Tarkov, if they do not have one set up already. The game is currently on sale for 25 percent off, so now might be a good time to job on. Next, simply link a Twitch account with an Amazon-prime account, as is necessary with all Twitch-based promotions.

Then, players need to go to the official Escape from Tarkov website and link their Twitch account with their player profile for Tarkov. After the accounts have been linked, simply tune in to streamers who are participating in the event for a certain amount of time, and there will be a guarantee of at least one free loot drop in player’s games. The official website has a list of participating streamers whose channels will be marked with the special text that reads "drops are enabled."

Escape from Tarkov is a pretty unique title, as it’s a first person MMO-like shooter with story content and quests. Players can unlock special NPC vendors who hand out quests. One unlockable NPC called Jaeger is actually fairly easy to unlock and has quite a few beneficial quests attached to him. Hopefully, this even gives players some great loot to take into their next raids.

Escape from Tarkov is available now for PC only.
