Escape from Tarkov has been extremely popular since its release, with players from all over the world logging in, even while its servers struggled to withstand its popularity. However, some of those players may soon be getting booted from games.

Escape from Tarkov developer Battlestate Games released a tweet explaining that players who have a ping of 250 or above will be booted from the games that they're in. Players will have a few seconds to bring their ping down before the kick takes place, so brief hiccups in a network connection shouldn't be too debilitating to players' experiences.

Responses to the decision have been mixed thus far. Some have rejoiced that they'll no longer have to deal with as many lagging players in their games. Others, however, have lamented that they'll likely no longer be able to play with long distance friends, while those who have only been able to connect to servers far from home might not be able to play at all.

With any luck, Battlestate Games will continue to adjust - and possibly add more servers - until it finds the sweet spot between improving players' experiences without alienating a large number of its newfound fans.

Escape from Tarkov is currently available on PC. The full game's release date has yet to be announced.
