RPG lovers are in luck as the Epic Games Store has revealed the next free games that players can grab. These are two RPGs made by Obsidian, one of the biggest RPG companies around. Starting December 10 at 8pm PST and ending December 17, players can get both Pillars of Eternity: Definitive Edition and Tyranny: Gold Edition.

The Epic Game Store, where players have access to games in a similar manner to Steam, has become even more popular since it started giving away free games every week. These games have ranged from Borderlands to Civilization 6, and now one of the most popular RPGs in recent years with Pillars of Eternity. All players have to do is log in and claim the free games when they are released.

Pillars of Eternity: Definitive Edition has been in the spotlight recently in comparison to the new Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access. Pillars of Eternity has been a staple in RPGs alongside previous Baldur’s Gates as well as Divinity. The game is an isometric RPG where players either recruit interesting and creative allies or custom make their own with a recruitment system. The combat is sometimes fast paced, but the pause system lets players slow it down and take stock of the battlefield. There are nearly endless conversations throughout multiple unexplored regions full of monsters and allies.

The second free RPG is Tyranny, where players are forced to follow the orders of their evil ruler. Tyranny is also isometric with a combat system based on the Dungeons & Dragons style, so this game fits well beside Pillars of Eternity. Players can grab both of these games and then decide if they want to help an evil lord or investigate strange deities and magic first.

Both of these games will come will DLC included, so players can get everything in one package. The giant Pillars of Eternity game becomes even larger with the addition of both of the White March DLC packs, plus all extras that were included in different editions of the game over the years. Tyranny will give players the Bastard’s Wound add-on, Tales from the Tiers expansion, and also several digital goodies.

If neither of these games are what a player wants, there will always be another week to grab free games. Currently, Cave Story+ is free until these two release on December 10. While many players are going to be busy with the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 on December 10, they can always claim these games and play them sometime in 2021.

Pillars of Eternity: Definitive Edition and Tyranny: Gold Edition will be free on the Epic Games Store on December 10.
