The Epic Games Store mystery game promo is almost over. Counting today’s release (December 27), there are only three more releases to follow the likes of Control, Vampyr, Loop Hero, Shenmue 3, and so on. Arguably, even if it was offered on the Epic Games Store before, it’s hard to beat Control.

Following it today is Mages of Mystralia, a 2017 action-adventure game. It’ll be available through December 28 at 10 am CT where it will then be replaced with the next free Epic Games Store title.

Mages of Mystralia may be one of the least heard of games given away this year, but it has had some decent reviews. It has a ‘Strong’ rating on Opencritic, with the top critic average being 75 and a total of 63% of critics recommending it. In Mages of Mystralia, players take on the role of Zia, who is just discovering her magic powers at the beginning of the game. A mage is only born every ten years in the game, and thanks to a king gone mad with Celestial Magic, they are shunned. She is forced out of the village after discovering her powers.

She meets a character who describes themselves as the Mentor and has her journey to a mage sanctuary to hone her skills. Eventually, Zia must prevent war between trolls and Mystralia, all the while learning her destiny and discovering the larger plot at play. Overall, it’s an interesting premise, and with it available for free via the Epic Games Store, there’s little reason not to check it out.

For fans curious how Epic Games Store will end the month, it’s worth mentioning that the final games have leaked online. All leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, but French forum Dealabs has a history of accurate leaks, including the PS Plus free games every month. User BillBil-Kun has leaked every single Epic Games Store mystery promo title thus far, so it’s likely his last few are accurate after all.

According to this leak, Mages of Mystralia will be followed by Moving Out—a 2020 co-op moving simulator, where players take on the role of Movers as they load trucks with household items like microwaves and couches. Then, for the final free Epic Games Store mystery promo game of the year, players will get Salt and Sanctuary—a highly praised 2D action RPG with a sequel, Salt and Sacrifice, currently in development.

Epic Games Store users typically get a handful of free games every month.
