The Epic Games Store is usually running sales for one reason or another, but its greatest discounts come during the holidays. The Epic Games Store has launched its Halloween Sale, with hundreds of games of all varieties seeing price drops.

If October's free games on the Epic Games Store are any indication, it is clear that Epic Games likes Halloween. Every week so far has provided new terrifying titles like this week's Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse and next week's Among the Sleep, spine-chilling games that are great for the season. The last major sale to be seen on the Epic Games Store was its big Summer Sale this past July, with some of gaming's current hottest titles receiving massive discounts, like Assassin's Creed Valhalla and this year's Hitman 3. It has been some time, though, and Epic Games must feel its time to deliver some games for frighteningly-low prices.

The Epic Games Store's Halloween Sale 2021 has officially begun, bringing discounts to hundreds of titles until November 1. For those who have been holding out on the ever-growing Assassin's Creed Valhalla, it's 40% off at $35.99, and can be purchased in tandem with either Immortals Fenyx Rising or Watch Dogs Legion for $54.99, which is 50% off the regularly expensive bundle. One of the game's in contention for game of the year, Hitman 3, is also on sale for a staggering 50% off for $29.99, a great deal considering the game's replayability. Other games to receive notable discounts include Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2 for $40.19 each, as well as Mafia Definitive Edition and Death Stranding for $23.99 each.

As for horror games, there are not too many titles to pick from, but of what's available, there is a strong variety. Discounted at 25% is this year's The Medium, a game that harkens back to traditional horror titles with cryptic puzzles and dense, atmospheric environments. For some zombie-slaying fun, look no further than Zombie Army 4: Dead War, where players must fight off never ending hordes with the excellent gunplay of the Sniper Elite games. However, if desiring a more slow-paced zombie experience, then try out Zombi, an intense first-person-shooter where every zombie can spell doom if the player doesn't account for their surroundings and manage their items properly.

The list of discounted games just goes on and on, it being worth it to just scroll through and see if anything catches the eye. The Epic Games Store may not have as many games as Steam, but its library is just as rich with unique and interesting games. Quantity of titles doesn't always necessarily mean quality, especially with the number of games on Steam that are incomplete or can barely be considered as games. While a Steam Halloween sale is likely on the way, people can start saving now if they want on the Epic Games Store.
