Following a month of free "mystery games," the Epic Games Store has officially returned to its standard free game format. Earlier today, it cycled out last week's Controladding two new games to the promotion and revealing which pair of titles will replace them in a week's time.

As of right now, players can head over to the Epic Games Store to get Overcooked 2 and Hell is Other Demons free of charge. Both titles will remain part of the service until June 24 at 8:00 AM PT, at which point they'll be replaced by Sonic Mania and Horizon Chase Turbo. Those interested can create an account over on the Epic Games Store and add both games to their library.

Overcooked 2 originally launched in 2018 and is a sequel to Team17's incredibly popular multiplayer adventure, Overcooked. Players take control of one of several cartoon chefs as they attempt to cook dishes and serve customers in a range of outlandish restaurants. These range from dainty rafts washing down a river to mineshafts and even flying airships. The game was met with positive reviews at release and still has a large fanbase to this day.

Meanwhile, Hell is Other Demons is a fast-paced bullet-hell shooter with roguelike elements, tasking players with slaying thousands of demons while being serenaded by a synthwave soundtrack. The game boasts tough but fair combat with huge bosses to slay, while its arcade mode offers procedurally generated battles that focus on infinite replayability. It's definitely one for players that enjoy challenging but satisfying action.

As for Sonic Maniathe game was touted as a return to form for the Blue Blur when it hit shelves in 2017, acting as a faithful homage to the SEGA mascot's days on the Genesis. Created by a team of former Sonic fan game devs and ROM hackers, the title takes place over 12 levels, following Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles as they attempt to defeat Doctor Eggman. With new levels and remixed takes on original Sonic stages, critics celebrated the game as a callback to the character's roots as well as one of the franchise's best iterations in years.

Finally, Horizon Chase Turbo is a self-professed "tribute to classic arcade racers," allowing players to navigate around 148 tracks as they race alone or alongside friends in 4-player split-screen. The game managed to score positive reviews from critics, who celebrated it as a fun resurrection of the arcade racer genre. It's definitely a solid choice for those looking for some fun racing action to hop into with friends.
