Every Thursday, the Epic Games Store gives away a new set of free games and confirms what free games fans can expect next week. This week is no exception to the rule, as Epic Games Store users can now claim Mothergunship and Train Sim World 2, completely free of charge. Those two games will be available for Epic Games Store users to download for free from now until August 5 at 8:00am PT.

As usual, the Epic Games Store also confirmed the free games that will be coming to the service next week as well. As it turns out, Epic Games Store users can claim A Plague Tale: Innocence and Speed Brawl for free from August 5 to August 12. Come Thursday, August 12, A Plague Tale: Innocence and Speed Brawl will be cycled out and most likely replaced with two more games, though EGS has been known to shake things up in the past by only offering a single free game, so fans should keep that in mind as well.

A Plague Tale: Innocence, for the uninitiated, is a stealth adventure game with horror elements that sees players attempt to avoid massive swarms of deadly rats. The game earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its release and has become somewhat of a cult classic. A Plague Tale: Requiem is the recently announced sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence, due for release next year, and its announcement could very well be why the game is showing up as a freebie everywhere.

Not only will A Plague Tale: Innocence be a free game on the Epic Games Store, but it's also currently available as one of the free PS Plus games for July 2021. And beyond PS Plus and EGS, A Plague Tale: Innocence is also currently playable through Xbox Game Pass. However, whereas PS Plus and Game Pass require a subscription fee, A Plague Tale: Innocence on the Epic Games Store is free with no strings attached and no additional purchases necessary.

The other free Epic Games Store game is Speed Brawl, which is described as a "2D combat-racer" game. Speed Brawl first launched a few years ago and earned somewhat mixed reviews at the time of its release. But it being available for free through the Epic Games Store may very well lead to it getting more fans than it had previously.

The next Epic Games Store free games will be revealed when August 5 rolls around, so fans of the service should stay tuned.
