Gearbox Software is looking to expand the Borderlands franchise with next year's Tiny Tina's Wonderlands game, which trades the series' sci-fi bent for more fantasy elements. The game is inspired by the popular Borderlands 2 DLC Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, which saw the titular Tiny Tina hosting what was essentially a Borderlands-flavored game of Dungeons & Dragons. Gearbox recently made Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep available as a standalone product, and Epic Games Store users can grab it for free.

Those on PlayStation and Xbox have to pay $9.99 if they want to play the standalone version of Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, but Epic Games Store users can claim it completely free of charge from now until Tuesday, November 16 at 10:00am CT. The addition of Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep as a surprise bonus free game is significant because otherwise EGS users were going to be missing out on a free game for this week.

New Epic Games Store free games are usually added on Thursdays, with the Epic Games Store confirming the next free offering in the process. However, this coming Thursday will not see a new Epic Games Store free game added. Instead the Epic Games Store is giving away the Rogue Company Season 4 Epic Pack. And while that will still net Epic Games Store users some freebies, it's not quite the same as getting a full-fledged video game for free.

Assault On Dragon Keep Tiny Tina Quotes Trivia
  • Aven Colony (until November 11 at 10am CT)
  • Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep (until November 16 at 10am CT)
  • Rogue Company Season 4 Epic Pack (November 11 at 10am CT - November 18 at 10am CT)

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep should help fill the free game void this week, and in the meantime, Epic Games Store users still have a couple of days to claim the current free game. From now until it's replaced by the Rogue Company Season 4 Epic Pack on Thursday, November 11 at 10:00am CT, Epic Games Store users can claim Aven Colony for their collection. For those who may be unfamiliar with the game, Aven Colony has been described as SimCity in space, and so fans of the city management genre may want to give it a look while it's still available.

Once Rogue Company Season 4 Epic Pack is given away for free, Epic Games Store users should get a sneak peek at what's coming next week. However, as is clear by the surprise release of Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, it's always possible that Epic Games Store will have unannounced bonuses in store for users as well.
