As announced recently by the storefront, The Epic Games Store will be holding a massive Winter sale over the next few days to commemorate the holiday season, putting a number of massive PC games up for reduced prices. The start of the sale also ushers in the return of a massively popular aspect of Epic's holiday offers last year, with the company's "15 Days of Free Games" event beginning today.

To kick off the slate of free titles, Cities: Skylines is now available to all Epic Games account owners with no price tag attached. Those wanting to get their hands on the insanely popular title only have to access the storefront, go to its marketplace, scroll to the free games section, and press on Cities: Skylines to get their copy.

For those who've never played the game before, Cities: Skylines is an expansive and detailed city-building simulator that puts players in control of constructing a metropolis, filling it with residents, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Over the years, the ambitious title has grown into a staple of the simulation scene, with players creating vast and expansive cities that show what a versatile set of tools developer Colossal Order offers within Cities: Skylines.

The next entry in the 15 Days of Free Games event will land in 24 hours time, with the title on offer remaining a mystery. With last year's 12 free holiday offerings including Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair, Celeste, Superhot, and Ape Out, it seems The Epic Games Store could be looking to hand out some equally essential experiences in the coming days.

Cities: Skylines is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
