Each week, Epic Games offers up free games for its users to claim, helping them fill out an entire library of PC games at no cost. The service has seen a number of major titles come and go, with the most notable past offering being Grand Theft Auto 5However, Epic Games Store revealed its next free game today, and it's one of the most popular games of last year.

This week, Epic Games Store users will be able to claim Among Us for free. While the game doesn't carry a massive price tag with it, InnerSloth's sleeper hit is still a big deal in many online circles, so there's still plenty of reason to check it out for those that have been waiting to give it a shot. It's a great game to play during remote hangouts, so it's definitely worth claiming.

Among Us follows NBA 2K21 being made free on the service, which was a goliath title for gamers to add to their libraries. While some were unimpressed by the offering due to its status as an annualized sports game, it doesn't change the fact that it's a triple-a game that usually carries with it a $60 price tag. For many, that's nothing to scoff at.

As with all free games on EGS, players will only have a week to claim Among Us before it goes back to its original pricing. That gives gamers until June 3 to pick up it for free, a healthy chunk of time, though it's better to get the claim process out of the way simply so it doesn't get overlooked. Missing out on a major free game is always a heartbreaker, even if Among Us isn't the most expensive title out there.

Of course, this is another week that some users might walk away feeling disappointed by. However, the Epic Game Store is promising yet another mystery game next week, so it's possible that the company drops a heavy hitter for fans to claim then. The shroud surrounding the mystery games tends to get players excited, so hopefully, it will live up to expectations.

In the meantime, EGS users can dive into Among Us with their friends if they haven't already. There should be a surge of new players in public lobbies too, so anyone that's found the player base lacking shouldn't worry. Among Us was one of the biggest games of 2020, and the giveaway may help it repeat that success in 2021.
