As part of the Epic Games Store's tradition of offering a new game for free every week, two games will be available for free from now until February 20th, 2020- the medieval role-playing game Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and the Aztec themed, side-scrolling beat 'em up, with a bit of turn-based strategy, Aztez.

Normally, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, developed by Warhorse Studios, would cost $29.99, and Aztez, developed by Team Colorblind, would cost $19.99. Considering an Epic Game Store account is free, anyone interested in both games and who has a Windows PC can save about $50.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is set in the early 15th century in the kingdom of Bohemia, a part of the Holy Roman Empire– a loose conglomeration of states with very little central authority. The player character is a common man named Henry, whose life is thrown into chaos and a journey for revenge, as a result of the many destabilizing factors ravaging his now strife-ridden homeland. Kingdom Come is notable for its strong focus on historical accuracy and general realism, so players looking for an open-world RPG with a more grounded setting should give it a try. Only the base version of the game is free however, so anyone who enjoys it can also feel free to purchase the available expansions.

Moving from the early into the late 15th century and across the ocean to the Americas is Aztez, a brutal and highly stylized fighting game set in the Aztec Empire, prior to the Spanish conquest. Expect fast-paced combat against a variety of enemies, all rendered primarily in black, white, and a whole lot of red. A more unorthodox feature that Aztez possesses is that it functions as a turn-based strategy game between its hack and slash gameplay. This gives the game a level of planning to it as well, allowing for a sort of metagame.

Anyone with any interest in either of these games might want to check out the Epic Games Store sooner rather than later. After all, they'll only be free for a week. After that, they will no longer be listed on the Epic Games Store as free, already having been replaced by the next free game, announced to be a card game called Faeria.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Aztez are both currently available for PC.
