On the 4th of July, Kanye West announced his intentions to run for President of the United States in the 2020 election. Now West isn't a stranger to making controversial and eccentric statements, so his supposed presidential bid didn't surprise many, especially since he already stated in the past that he wanted to run for 2024.

However, what was unexpected was Elon Musk tweeting that West had his full support — and not even ten minutes after West made his tweet. Elon Musk is the founder of Space X and an entrepreneur with involvement in many other businesses such as Tesla Motors, Solar City, and the Boring Company.

In a recent interview with Forbes, Kanye stated that Elon Musk is currently advising him. He also said that the two had this idea planned for years, and West wants to make him the head of his space program. Musk hasn't said anything to confirm or refute this statement, but if his tweet is anything to go by, it's probably true.

The rapper goes on to say that his only other adviser is his wife, Kim Kardashian West, but then says that he already has a vice-presidential candidate picked out who's also providing input. The overall statement implies that either she, Kim Kardashian West, or Elon Musk, would be his vice president.

There are, of course, suspicions that West is doing this as a PR stunt to promote his new upcoming album. When asked if this was the case, however, West denied it, responding, "Like anything I've ever done in my life, I'm doing this to win." However, it's important to note that Kanye West has already missed four state deadlines for signing up as an Independent.

Since the Democratic and Republican party candidates have already whittled down to Joe Biden and Donald Trump, Kanye plans to enter as an Independent with the banner "Birthday Party." When asked why he chose Birthday Party as the name, West said, "Because when we win, it's everybody's birthday." West would run as a Republican if Trump didn't already hold the spot. All of this comes after Kanye West announced how big of a supporter he was for Trump. But in the interview, West claims that's no longer the case.

All of this may seem like a joke at first glance, but Trump's campaign was the same way. Despite having little to no experience in politics, Trump is now President. Kanye West is at a much greater disadvantage, of course, but if the last three years are proof of anything, its that anyone with power can become President if they play their cards right.
