The following article contains spoilers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has finally arrived in theaters, and one of the highlights is Elizabeth Olsen's portrayal of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. Now, the longtime Marvel star has hinted at what her future may look like moving forward in the MCU

Olsen, who made her MCU debut in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, would go on to become one of the most complex and exciting characters in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her character was fleshed out even more in Disney Plus' WandaVision, as her gradual turn to the more villainous Scarlet Witch would set up future storylines like the one seen in the Doctor Strange sequel.

Doctor Strange 2 ended with Wanda's apparent death after she sacrifices herself by bringing down Mount Wundagore and destroying all copies of the Darkhold throughout the multiverse. Lost in the rubble, it's unclear whether or not that was the end for the character, but with Olsen's comments during a new interview with Harper's Bazaar, it appears that the character is not finished yet. “I think Wanda’s always around the corner, so I don’t feel bad saying goodbye to her," Olsen said, hinting at Wanda's return.

Olsen also teased the character's evolving arc during an interview with Extra TV. The acclaimed actress added that she's curious to hear from fans on what they would like to see from Wanda next. “[There are a couple of] different versions of what could happen at the end of this film," Olsen said. "Mostly, I want to hear what the fans who know her best, what they would like to see from her next."

If going by the one general rule in many comic book films, no one is really dead if the body is not found or shown on screen. In that case, it's very likely fans will see more of Wanda moving forward, especially now that the mutants will be introduced on Earth-616 (a group that Olsen recently revealed she would like to deliver an iconic X-Men line to). But until she is confirmed to return, fans will just have to soak up the character's exciting journey presented in Doctor Strange 2.

After the events of Loki season one and Spider-Man: No Way Home, the 28th MCU film follows Benedict Cumberbatch's sorcerer hero through the alternate realities of the multiverse as he is forced to make new allies in order to defeat new threats that seek to wreak havoc on several universes. Other than Olsen and Cumberbatch's roles, the film also stars Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Benedict Wong as Wong, and Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer.
