An internal email from developer and publisher EA has been leaked online, revealing some of the company's upcoming plans for 2018.

The email was accidentally sent to a Reddit user by the name of OldSoul2 and contains details of two major titles; Fe and A Way Out, including campaign roadmaps for both games. As the information has not been verified by EA, there is a possibility that this is a hoax, but the detail of the leaked image suggests that it could well be authentic.

If it is to be believed, the leak reveals that the next Nintendo Direct presentation is planned for January 2018. It also states that Fe will be a part of that broadcast, followed soon after by the game's planned release date on the 18th of February.

EA's Leaked Campaign Roadmap for Fe

Fe's roadmap seems to suggest that EA plans to rely heavily on marketing for the game's Nintendo Switch release. It states that, "we have not seen anything spark it to cut through the noise," and, "the campaign will need a spark in order to reach our goals," suggesting that EA is concerned that the game isn't attracting the attention that they had hoped for. EA may be looking to appeal to the Switch audience to help Fe stand out.

In the same week that it emerged that EA's stock has dropped by $3.1 billion, largely due to the controversies and poor sales of Star Wars Battlefront II, it seems likely that the company will be keen to make up for the loss with the success of other upcoming projects.

EA seems to be more confident about the second game in the leaked image; A Way Out, which was considered one of the stronger games shown at EA PLAY. When the game was first revealed, it was originally scheduled for a 2018 release, but the leaked image seems to suggest that EA now plans to release it in 2019.

The game's roadmap lays out a plan to build hype for the game with Let's Plays and hands-on experiences throughout 2018. A Way Out was well-received by fans when it was announced, but many are unlikely to be pleased if the game truly has been delayed to 2019.

EA's Leaked Summary for A Way Out

Whether this leaked email proves to be the real thing or not, EA will certainly need to do a lot in the coming months to win back the support of their fans after the closure of Visceral Games and the ongoing controversy surrounding Star Wars Battlefront II. A petition has even been started asking that Lucasfilm revoke EA's license to make Star Wars games, showing just how unhappy some are with the company.
