All manner of unliving creatures, vampires, skeletons, and everything in between, are no match for this blade. It was crafted by Meridia herself to cleanse the world of necromancy and unnatural life. It gets the job done, to be sure.

The blade deals fire or frost damage depending on the time of day. Once the sword has extinguished the lives of a certain number of enemies it transforms into a superior version of itself. 8 Chrysamere

In addition, Chrysamere also appears in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as Creation Club content. It wouldn't be fair to leave out the Dragonborn after all.
