Every image and hint given for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is worthy of excitement and with good reason. Topping out list of most anticipated 2011 video games, Skyrim brings with it lofty expectations.

The last batch of Elder Scrolls 5 screenshots gave us a look at some of the armor sets the protagonist can wear on his/her journey, but these brand new Skyrim screenshots show us the other species players will meet in the game.

Today Bethesda has released a new set of images, revealing what some of the franchise's playable races look like in the latest Elder Scrolls game as well as some of the NPC enemies you'll battle in the Skyrim wilderness. From Orcs and Khajiit, to Giant Spiders and Zombie/Skeleton warriors, the latest look into Bethesda's next fantasy adventure look stunning.

The wilderness, notably the trees, look amazing and that'll certainly make exploring the lands that much more enjoyable. The close-ups on the armor do reveal graphics similar to Oblivion so that's not a strong point of the images released so far. Overall, the visuals look great, but up close you can see that it's not up there with Battlefield 3.

My favorite is by far is the shot of the main character preparing to fight the undead. The detail on these creatures and their glowing eyes are horrifying. That's much improved over the bland and unexciting undead of previous Elder Scrolls games.

I do wish the Khajiit looked a little less humanoid, but that's a minor gripe. They had changed how their legs and how they walk from Morrowind to Oblivion and I was hoping to see them differentiated even more from the other playable species. The Game Informer preview indicated that there are 10 playable species in Skyrim.

So, you wont be able to play Skyrim with or a against a friend, but you at least have another look at who you will be fighting. I hate spiders.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim releases November 11, 2011 for the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.
