Elder Scrolls' Daedric Prince of Madness, Sheogorath, is trending on Twitter, having amassed just over 1800 tweets at the time of this writing. As such, many may think this surge in popularity has something to do with an Elder Scrolls announcement, either for Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls Online, or potentially even Elder Scrolls 6. Yet, for those wondering why Sheogorath is trending, that is not the case.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Sheogorath has a painted history within the lore of Elder Scrolls. His realm of Oblivion is known as the Shivering Isles, where he appears in-game in a Oblivion DLC of the same name. He also appears in The Elder Scrolls Online as the main antagonist of the Mages Guild questline, and while he has no confirmed role in Elder Scrolls 6, very little is known about the sequel. So, it's hard to say what and who will or will not appear in the hotly anticipated game.

The reason that Sheogorath is trending is far more simple. An Elder Scrolls Twitter account initially issued the tweet below, one of a predictive text meme involving the Prince of Madness. Many hopped on this bandwagon, which can also seen below, leading to Sheogorath trending online.

Unfortunately, there's still very little known about Elder Scrolls 6. It was first revealed at E3 2018, having gone relatively radio silent since then, and "revealed" may be a strong word, as the initial teaser didn't show much. It didn't confirm the Elder Scrolls 6 location, title, or anything like that, and there would be nothing related to the game revealed at E3 2019. Perhaps this will be different come E3 2020, but that's the likeliest place for something more to be revealed.

Strangely enough, though, there is one bit of solid information about an in-game NPC. Shirley Curry, who is more commonly known by the Moniker "Skyrim Grandma" will appear in Elder Scrolls 6 after she reached internet fame making Let's Plays of the game. For now, fans will just have to sit and wait until more information about the likely next-gen title launches.

Elder Scrolls 6 is currently in development for unspecified platforms.
