Just a few weeks shy of the release date, ZeniMax Online Studios has released a new trailer for the latest DLC content update to The Elder Scrolls Online, titled The Elder Scrolls Online: Stonethorn.

The newest DLC for the game, announced earlier in the year, brings 2 dungeons to the Province of Skyrim, both with a heavy focus on dark sinister villains and newly raised armies. As with every DLC, players should expect new Achievements to complete, as well as new foes to vanquish and new unique rewards to obtain, including exciting new gear and collectibles.

When released, players will be tasked with visiting Castle Thorn and confronting a rising vampire army led by the mysterious Lady Thorn, which not only threatens the people of Skyrim, but all of Tamriel. The DLC promises to continue the year long Dark Heart of Skyrim storyline that began earlier this year for both veteran players and new players of Elder Scrolls Online.

In addition to the Stonethorn dungeon, players will be also be tasked with traveling to the Stone Garden, which is located in Blackreach. Once there, players will find a laboratory filled with horrifying creations and a mad Alchemist with diabolical plans. The two dungeons will mark the nineteenth DLC pack released for The Elder Scrolls Online since its original release in April of 2014, and Stonethorn will be available on Google Stadia first on August 24.

The Elder Scrolls Online continues to be a major part of Bethesda's lineup of games with every new expansion. Earlier this week, Bethesda announced that console players of the game will be able to continue their Elder Scrolls Online adventures on next-gen consoles at no additional cost if they upgrade to a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, saving players a bit of cash on next gen versions of the game once they're released.

With the eventual next gen versions on the horizon, Elder Scrolls Online seems like it will continue to fill the gap that The Elder Scrolls 6 is years away from taking over. Since the release of Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, which itself has been ported to a number of devices, the Elder Scrolls series has seen a number of spin-offs including the digital card game Elder Scrolls: Legends and the GAAS driven Elder Scrolls: Blades, which was recently ported over to the Nintendo Switch.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Stonethorn arrives on Google Stadia and PC on August 24 and on September 1 for PS4 and Xbox One.
