There are five new Mythic items introduced with the High Isle Chapter for Elder Scrolls Online, one of which is the Sea Serpent's Coil. Mythic items in ESO can only be acquired by completing associated Leads, puzzles that players can find and solve with the Antiquities system.

The Sea Serpent's Coil is an Elder Scrolls Online Mythic with an upside and a downside. It's useful for players who can maintain a full Health bar, as its effect only procs when taking damage at max HP, though the fact that it relies on taking damage makes it a bit of a more complicated Mythic than others.

The Sea-Serpent's Coil is an ESO Mythic that takes effect at full health. With the Sea-Serpent's Coil equipped, the first hit against a player with full health is reduced by 40%. For 10 seconds after being hit at full health, the player gains Major Berserk and Major Courage, though the effect also Slows by 40% for the duration. It's an interesting Mythic that could be helpful in dealing with one-shot attacks, as this reduction stacks with existing damage reduction effects in Elder Scrolls Online.

It does require players to be at full health and to take an attack to proc, though, and the DPS-oriented Major Berserk and Courage effects aren't quite as useful for Tanks, especially when the Mythic slows as well. Use this Mythic item as a close-combat DPS, but don't be too reckless - the Health bar has to be in a constant flux between full and just-barely full to benefit from this Mythic at all, so pay attention and consider using some self-healing spells to trigger the effect more often.

Like all Mythic items in ESO, the Sea Serpent's Coil can only be acquired after the player completes a series of Leads. There are five Master-level Leads for every Mythic item, each acquired in unique ways, which can be used in the Scrying and Antiquities system of the Greymoor Chapter to locate fragments.

When Excavated, these Fragments are automatically added to the player's Collections. When all five have been located, the Mythic is automatically assembled and added to the Inventory. To be able to locate and Scry these Leads, you must have at least Level 7 in Scrying to reach the fourth tier of the Antiquarian's Insight perk. This perk lets player Scry up to Master-level Leads, the tier which every Mythic Lead falls under.
