Mundus Stones were introduced to the Elder Scrolls series in Skyrim, then incorporated into Elder Scrolls Online spread throughout the many zones of Tamriel. Each Mundus Stone in Elder Scrolls Online appears more than once in the world, meaning members of each faction have equal access to the Stones' permanent buffs.

Mundus Stones in Skyrim offer gameplay-altering abilities (like turning Invisible). In Elder Scrolls Online, Mundus Stones are a bit less game-changing as they offer players a variety of permanent stat buffs (like increased Defense or Critical Chance). Some are much more popular than others, though the best Mundus Stone to choose usually depends on a character's role.
