The Elder Scrolls Online saw the release of the Blackwood chapter back in summer, and more story DLC is scheduled to release later this year. ZeniMax Online has now revealed the official release date for The Elder Scrolls Online: Deadlands, which will add a brand-new zone to the game.

Deadlands will be the fourth DLC coming to ESO this year. Flames of Ambition and Waking Flame DLCs primary consisted of dungeons, while the above-mentioned Blackwood chapter was a full expansion. In Deadlands, players will be travelling to Mehrunes Dagon’s domain and visit the city of Fargrave.

All the new information regarding Deadlands comes from the Gates of Oblivion Year-End Stream, where special guests from the development team gave an overview of the DLC. This presentation included Creative Director Rich Lambert, Zone Lead Tom Murphy, and Senior Content Designer Janet Priblo. According to a post on the official website of The Elder Scrolls Online, Deadlands will be a “cataclysmic conclusion” to the Gates of Oblivion adventure. Deadlands is scheduled to launch on November 1 for PC/Mac and Stadia, while console players will have to wait for November 16.

ZeniMax Online gave an update on the Axe of Oblivion sweepstakes and the ongoing partnership with heavy metal band Trivium, which will allow a lucky fan to win a Mehrunes Dagon-styled guitar. The development team was also excited to confirm the The Elder Scrolls Online will be getting localized in Spanish.

ESO fans are getting a unique chance to gain access to Deadlands for free. Players must take part in the ongoing Bounties of Blackwood in-game event and work together in order to add to the community’s overall progression of a meter. Once that reaches 100%, Deadlands will be available for free. Players must own the latest Blackwood chapter in order to access the Bounties of Blackwood event.

As of now, 59% of the meter has been filled. Players will be getting a Pellucid Swamp Jelly pet, which unlocked at 33% completion, while Shadows of Blackwood markings will be available when it reaches 66%.

It’s surprising to see that ZeniMax Online is offering the entire DLC for free, and the community is bound to hit the requirement for unlocking the reward. Zone DLCs typically sell for 2000 crowns, the in-game currency of The Elder Scrolls Online. Players can also get access to all DLC content, excluding chapters, by subscribing to ESO Plus.

The Elder Scrolls Online is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
