In The Elder Scrolls Online the Companions system allows players to recruit select NPCs to their side to act as a sort of group member. Companions are just like Followers from other Elder Scrolls titles, but with a few key differences that make them work in the MMO format.
The Elder Scrolls Online, there are four Companions that can be unlocked: Mirri, Bastian, Ember, and Isobel. One of the key mechanics with ESO Companions is the Rapport system. This shows how highly your Companion approves of you, and if you do too many things they don't like, they might just leave your side.
As of the release of the High Isle Chapter forHow Rapport Works In Elder Scrolls Online
Rapport is a measurement of your Companion's overall opinion of you as their Companion. When you do things a Companion likes, their Rapport increases. On the other hand, if the player engages in activities that a Companion disapproves of, they will make their opinion known and your Rapport will decrease.
Having a high Rapport unlocks the unique character questlines associated with each Companion, which can't be accessed any other way. Having too low a Rapport can make the Companion frustrated with you and can even lead to them leaving your service - but only for a short time. Completing the questline for each Companion gives you their unique buff at all times, even when a different Companion is summoned. This is especially useful for Companions like Isobel, whose unique ability creates extra loot at some world events.
Blackwood: How To Build Rapport for Mirri and Bastian
The Blackwood Chapter introduced the Companions system to Elder Scrolls Online for the first time, and brought along two followers for players to recruit. Mirri Elendis is a Dark Elf with a rough past, while Bastian is an Imperial do-gooder Knight. They each have very unique requirements for building Rapport.

Mirri can be found outside Doomvault Vulpinaz in the northern areas of Blackwood. Bastian can be found across the zone to the south, just outside Deepscorn Hollow on an island. When the player approaches either of these characters they will call out, making their presence known. You can alsoMirri Elendis

High Isle: How To Build Rapport for Ember and Isobel
With the High Isle Chapter for ESO came two new Companions for players to try: Ember the Khajiit and Isolbel the Breton. Ember, like Mirri, has a bit of a troubled past, but can overlook much more sinister actions than the Dark Elf. Isobel, on the other hand, is a Templar who is similar to Bastian but comes across much more confident and less naive.

Ember can be found just outside Tor Draioch to the northwest of Gonfalon Bay, while Isobel can be found in the southwest of High Isle proper at Castle Navire. Players will undoubtedly comeEmber the Khajiit
