The world of Skyrim is filled with different races, monsters, and creatures. It takes something from every game and combines it in a way that feels original and fun. One of those races is Dunmer, easily recognizable by their dark-colored skin (blue, grey, or yellow).

Dunmer was voted as the most popular race in Skyrim. They have a good-looking homeland, rich history, and are experts in stealth. They are skilled in magic and have 50% resistance to fire. Their fighting style is more offensive, utilizing magic and stealth. They are prime choices if someone wants a cool-looking, edgy character, who does not give two hoots about anything.

9 Azura Was Not The Best

Anyone who has studied The Elder Scrolls lore knows that Azura was a selfish person, who never thought good for the Dunmers. That's why Vivec used his power to banish her from the mortal realm. She was publicly shamed, and it is not expected that she would make an appearance anytime soon.

The tribunal was a triad of Gods: Vivec, Almalexia, and Sotha Sil. However, none of them is present as of now. Vivec's disappearance during the Oblivion Crisis brought a lot of trouble for Dunmers too.

8 Poor Pooh Ate The Lore

The lore of Elder Scrolls is 7000+ years long. All the events of every year are written. This seemingly impossible feat is done by Bethesda's former writer Michael Kirkbride. It took 100 years for a single person time to write. Luckily, Bethesda had the budget so they tripled their staff and were able to pull this off

Winnie the Pooh has become omnipotent and unlocked all the secrets of this universe by eating the lore. His humanity is long lost; not that he had it in the first place

7 Dunmers And Bretons

Breton are half-elves and half-humans. This dates back to the Nord's conquest of the Hight Rock when the pureblood Manmeri (elves) bred with the Nords. Then the influx of humans in the High Rock further increased the number of population

Therefore, Bretons have a lot of subtle features that correlate with the Elves like high cheekbones, pointy ears, and natural resistance to magic, etc. Bretons are part of the Elven gang but they will still be a n'wah for the pureblood elves.

6 The Dunmer Who Saw It Coming

Year 4E 05 or commonly known as " Red Year" was the year, when Dunmer luck ran out and a chain of reaction started of their downfall. Here is a summary: Vivec, the immortal god mysteriously vanished, Baar dau, a moon, that float over the city began to fall because it floated due to Vivec's power. Baar dau fall created a shock wave that caused the eruption of Red Mountain.

Countless Dunmers turned to ashes and many more suffocated due to the smoke. Obviously, this is the reaction a Dunmer should make after hearing this.

5 Natural Enemies

After the events of the Red year, a large number of Dunmers became refugees and began to seek shelter from other races. Like Dunmers, other races are quite racist too. So it was evident that no one wanted them in their homeland. This is one of the reasons Dunmers are hated by other races

N'wah is one of the worst words used in Skyrim. It is a derogatory term meaning Slave or Outsiders. So whenever a Dunmer gets mad, N'wahs are to be expected.

4 The Tragedy Of Red Year

There is a reason that Dunmers are considered ill-fated. Soon after the eruption of the red mountain, Dunmer strength reduced in number. This gave a chance to the people of Daedra to capture the Tamriel territory( where Dunmers lived), which is known as "The Oblivion Crisis". After all this, what's the worst that could happen now?

Their Argonian slaves turned against them. They were pissed off for the years of inhumane treatment and it was their moment to get revenge. The smile on Argonians faces would be much wider than that.

3 Don't Ask About The Dunmer History

Dunmers, no doubt, have a very rich history. It's not a bad thing. Extensive lore means that each character has some meaning to them. Players can empathize with them and this makes up for a good experience.

But Dunmers take it to the next level. Their history is a 7 seasons long TV show, where the good part is only the beginning credits. It is filled with suffering and death and not something to be enjoyed with family. So be careful before diving into it.

2 Dumb And Dunmer

Vivec was the god that led the Dunmers for 3500 years. After losing his powers and becoming a mortal. Vivec was not able to protect the land anymore. So he vanished without a trace. Baar Dau, that floated in the air due to Vivec's power also fell and caused mayhem.

This means that the person who pissed him was not dumb, it was a Dunmer.

1 Karma Served

Back in the day, when Dunmers were still in power, they used to abuse it in all possible ways. They had plans of invading the whole Empire, kill everyone off and reclaim their kingdom. While there is nothing wrong with dreams of conquest but their ways were barbaric. They considered themselves higher than other races and made slaves of innocent citizens

Then karma strikes. Dunmer loses everything: their power, their homeland, and their beloved god. They are left with no choice but to rely on others. So some injustice is to be expected.
