The Elder Scrolls franchise has a wide variety of memorable characters that players have met on their adventures. Be it companions in the recent games, quest givers in previous ones or just plain NPCs that players have found interesting.

While many may recall the women of Skyrim well, especially due to its age and success, there has also been some memorable female characters in other games of the Elder Scrolls franchise that may players have enjoyed meeting. Therefore, this list looks at the other women involved in the franchise from Morrowind to the Elder Scrolls Online that have interested those playing with their intriguing quests or personality.

10 Lamae Bal – Elder Scrolls Online

Players will only ever meet Lamae Bal if they decide to turn their character into a vampire, before getting their powers they will need to witness the life of this poor woman. By becoming a vampire she is the last of her race known as the Nede with an obsession for vengeance against Molag Bal.

As a pure-blooded vampire she is incredibly powerful, and it's a shame that players don't get to see more of her after they have become one of her kin. Especially since the Vestige themselves are trying to stop Molag Bal from destroying the world.

9 Mazoga the Orc – Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion

Although once a member of a gang of Bandits, Mazoga gets the redemption she needs while working alongside the hero in one of the many interesting quests of Oblivion. After her friend is killed by a fellow bandit Mazoga starts to call herself a knight and hopes to get vengeance for this friend.

She finally does with the player's help as they wipe out the Black Bow Bandits as well as Black Brugo where she rids herself of her old life. She is finally rewarded with being called a Knight-Errant of the White Stallion, making her finally a real Knight.

8 Alfe Fyr – Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind

Firstly, this doesn't just include Alfe but also the rest of her sisters. Though as the oldest naturally she would be the most favored as well as being the smartest of them all. Where these four dark elves really become intriguing is the little explored backstory given to them.

They are actually female clones of Divayth Fyr, an incredibly powerful and old wizard. He claims that he learned how to create his daughters while experimenting with the Corpus Disease. However, it gets weirder as these women he calls his daughters to the player refer to themselves as his wives.

7 Karliah – Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

While completing the Thieves Guild quest line players will have Karliah to thank for saving their lives after being backstabbed by one of the other members in the guild. Players that have done this quest will be able to relate to Karliah as she was also double-crossed by the same member of the guild.

Working together players will learn more about the story of Karliah as the Dragonborn helps her get her revenge as well as saving the Thieves Guild from its own demise. Players are also introduced to the Nightingales which is another interesting faction she is a part of.

6 Seed-Neeus – Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion

Imperials are known to not be the most welcoming of people, similar to Nords, and therefore it is already a surprise to see an Argonian woman like Seed-Neeus running her own successful store in Chorrol.

She is not only a great trader but also a loving mother that asks for the player's aid in finding where her daughter has gone. Helping Seed-Neeus successfully will put her forever in the hero's debt as well as making her a close friend, which players can benefit from by pushing her further for discounts.

5 Lyris Titanborn – Elder Scrolls Online

As a crucial member of the main story, Lyris is not only part of the original five companions but also responsible for helping the player escape Coldharbour. Her large size is not only because of her Nord heritage but also the partial giants blood that runs through her veins.

Many players may feel sorry for Lyris. Especially as all her life she has felt that her mother's death was her fault due to being born half giant, as well as the harassment she faced while a member of the Imperial Army due to her large size. 4 Ocheeva – Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion

Ocheeva is one of the leaders of the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion. She mainly takes command of the family when Lucien is out collecting contracts and therefore the player is more likely to talk to her than any other member.

Growing up under the shadow, this was always to be the path she would follow, which makes for an interesting backstory players can learn from her. She also has some memorable lines from the quests she gives the player to complete as part of the Dark Brotherhood.

3 Lydia – Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

Being housecarl to the Dragonborn comes with its charms as well as its burdens. Some players may find her annoying, especially when she gets in the way of doorways, however a vast majority wouldn't feel the same if they didn't have their companion Lydia to follow them around.

2 The Night Mother

Starring in most of the Elder Scrolls franchise, the Night Mother is one of the most powerful supernatural beings that the Dark Brotherhood has. Many that wish for someone to be killed will pray to the bride of Sithis to have their contract fulfilled.

She has spoken to the player in many games when they have decided to join the Dark Brotherhood. Although she may be a corpse in the majority of the games this doesn't stop her from showing compassion for those she deems as her children.

Last but not least, Queen Ayrenn is loved by many players of the Elder Scrolls franchise for her resilience as well as acceptance of other races in the Elder Scrolls Universe. Commonly High Elves believe themselves to be better than many of the other races, though Queen Ayrenn during the war hoped to join forces with others and create bonds.

Throughout the faction storyline for the Aldmeri Dominion it is the job of the player to protect the Queen from the corruption that is occurring in her ranks that believe she isn't the queen that is needed.
