In a surprising announcement recently, Bethesda's MachineGames announced that it is working on a brand new Indiana Jones video game that will feature a completely original story. The announcement included a short teaser trailer showing the titular character's desk filled with various artifacts from his adventures and his iconic whip and hat. Unfortunately, the announcement did not reveal the upcoming game's release date or the platforms where it will be available.

In a follow-up tweet released after the announcement, Bethesda revealed that the new Indiana Jones game would be executive produced by Todd Howard. Now, players who follow every single game that is in development by Bethesda would know that Todd Howard is also working on other big Bethesda games such as Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6, alongside other projects, including a Fallout TV show. Understandably, some fans became worried that Howard is taking on too much at a time, which could affect Starfield and The Elder Scrolls' development.

Immediately after the confirmation of Howard's role in the upcoming Indiana Jones game, Bethesda's marketing exec Peter Hines clarified on Twitter, saying that although Howard will be an executive producer for Indiana Jones, his focus will primarily revolve around directing Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6. Most importantly, the developer reiterated that the announcement of Indiana Jones does not affect the development of Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6.

Ever since its announcement back in E3 2018, Starfield quickly became one of Bethesda's hotly-anticipated titles. Unfortunately, specific details on Starfield are still being kept under wraps, and Bethesda still hasn't released any gameplay footage on the upcoming game. Unsurprisingly, its exact release date is also a mystery, which is no surprise for a Bethesda game, though the company confirmed that Starfield would be released before The Elder Scrolls 6.

Similarly, The Elder Scrolls 6 is also one of Bethesda's highly-anticipated titles right now, even though players know nothing about the upcoming game, except that it may come to the PS5 after all despite the Microsoft-Bethesda acquisition. As of the moment, the only preview that Bethesda was only able to show is a dramatic reveal of its logo that was shown at E3 several years ago. When Bethesda was asked when players should expect the game, the studio only said that it is still far off, and many believe that it won't be available until 2024 at the latest. Now, with the announcement of Indiana Jones, it appears that Bethesda players should look forward to a wide variety of games in the years to come.
