Elden Ring features a massive open world that encourages exploration, but it also has many levels similar to the ones in the Souls games. These areas are called Legacy Dungeons in Elden Ring, and they are filled with shortcuts, traps, terrifying enemies, and exciting loot.

Raya Lucaria Academy is one such legacy dungeon in Elden Ring. It’s perhaps infamous for the massive iron ball trap that often results in the death of newcomers to the area. Raya Lucaria Academy also features annoying enemies that shoot a barrage of magic missiles, and an Elden Ring player had a strange encounter with one of these sorcerers.

A user named KeyTenavast uploads a clip of them fighting Glintstone Sorcerers inside Raya Lucaria Academy. The area featured in the video is from the second half of the level after the boss fight against Red Wolf of Radagon. KeyTenavast encounters two Glintstone Sorcerers and defeats one of them with a single hit. At that exact moment, the other Glintstone Sorcerer completely stops attacking, almost as if he is stunned by the death of his friend. KeyTenavast also misses their attack and appears to be confused by the lack of action of their foe.

The user and their opponent stare at each other for a few seconds before the sorcerer suddenly smacks them with his book. The background music and the To be Continued sign at the end make the clip even more hilarious. These enemies are usually extremely aggressive, so KeyTenavast probably encountered a strange bug in Elden Ring. It appears that the sorcerer’s AI gets re-activated as soon as the player targets them, as the animation starts immediately afterward.

Unsurprisingly, the comments section is filled with other users making jokes about the slap with the book. Some also question how KeyTenavast could miss the enemy from point-blank range. According to some fans, Glintstone Sorcerers either use the book or headbutt players if they get too close, which makes sense as they likely want to maintain the distance to spam magic attacks. Many gamers also ask the poster about the weapon they used in the video. KeyTenavast mentions that they used the Sacred Relic Sword, a Greatsword obtained by exchanging Elden Beast’s Remembrance at the Roundtable Hold.

Raya Lucaria Academy appears to be a lively place, as many Elden Ring players have shared exciting stories of their encounters in this area. Another funny incident in Raya Lucaria Academy involves one user going through a series of events that could only be described as the perfect Dark Souls experience.

Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
