Elden Ring is an incredibly challenging game as players are thrown into a gruesome world full of fearsome creatures without having any idea of the dangers that await them. The action RPG begins at the First Step site of grace, where an intimidating Tree Sentinel boss can be seen from a distance. Most new players approach the boss straight away, only to be killed violently and forced to start again from the nearby reload point.
Besides this vicious Elden Ring boss that has a reputation for destroying the morale of new players, a friendly figure is also present at The First Step site of grace. This is White Mask Varre; the first NPC gamers come across before beginning their journey deep into The Lands Between. Varre greets the Tarnished and asks them about their objectives and, most importantly, offers valuable advice on how to succeed in the perilous world. It should be noted that he's not among the most famous NPCs, as Ranni, Melina, and Milicent are the most notable ones. Still, he has a few admirers in the real world, and now one of them dressed up as White Mask Varre for Halloween.
Reddit user foxhunt-eg is the one who deserves credit for designing an awesome costume based on the appearance of White Mask Varre. The user uploaded an image on the social media platform with the caption, "Oh yes... Tarnished, are we?" which happens to be the introductory dialogue of the Elden Ring NPC. After this, Varre says that the Tarnished is maidenless and suggests that the player should follow the guidance of grace, and they'll ultimately achieve their goal.
Foxhunt-eg has brilliantly recreated Varre's attire, including the white robe and mask, while having a similar body posture. The user also holds Varre's Bouquet, a unique hammer made of roses and his preferred weapon of choice, which causes massive blood loss buildup. Roses are also related to Blood Magic in Elden Ring, and Varre plays a critical role in transporting players to the Mohgwyn Palace, the home of Mohg, Lord of Blood. Gamers need to invade other players' worlds three times to progress Varre's questline, upon which he gives the necessary items to travel to Mohgwyn Palace.
As the Halloween arrives, many more costumes based on Elden Ring characters will be seen. Malenia, Radahn, Rennala, Godfrey, and Ranni are some of the most notable figures in the game, and as a result, these would be the most popular costumes during the occasion.
