An update to Elden Ring’s SteamDB page suggests that new content may be coming soon. Elden Ring launched almost a year ago, but developer FromSoftware has not released any major paid DLC content for the game.Rumors about Elden Ring’s DLC have been circulating for a while now, but there has been no official announcement on the same. FromSoftware did release the Colosseum update for free in December 2022, but it offered more ways to engage in PvP battles, as opposed to an expansion pack that comes with new regions, dungeons, bosses, weapons, and more. Now, an update to the game’s SteamDB page hints at new content coming soon.RELATED: Weird Elden Ring Bug Has Player Falling at Ridiculous SpeedAs reported by TheGamer, a Reddit user named ashen____one states that there has been an update to four packages linked to Elden Ring on Steam. These packages contain general information about the game including images and text, but they have only been updated twice since Elden Ring’s release. The first time was at its launch in February 2022, and the release of the Colosseum update was the second instance. An Elden Ring dataminer also confirms that two packages are leading to a 404 error, giving further hints at new content being revealed fairly soon.

Bandai Namco is hosting a special event to celebrate Elden Ring’s 1-year anniversary at Red Bull Gaming Sphere in Stockholm, and FromSoftware may take this opportunity to finally announce an expansion. The timing of this event and the store update feels too close to be a coincidence, but users may not want to get their hopes up until a DLC announcement is confirmed.

FromSoftware has released DLC content for almost all of its recent games, with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice being an exception. Some games even received multiple pieces of DLC, and the same may be true for Elden Ring. Given Elden Ring’s massive success, there is an established base of users to market this DLC to, and it also gives Bandai Namco the chance to release a Game of the Year edition with the expansion included as a part of the bundle.

It’ll be interesting to see the size and scope of whatever DLC FromSoftware is working on for Elden Ring, especially when compared to the add-ons for the Dark Souls games and Bloodborne. Fans can expect it to follow the same design ideas introduced in Elden Ring, as it’ll likely feature a brand-new open-world area filled with secrets.

Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
