The last Elden Ring update made huge waves in the community. Not only did it nerf the incredibly popular Mimic Tear Ashes, but it also nerfed the Sword of Night and Flame. None of the nerfs were essentially game-breaking, but it did force several players to consider how they might adjust their build. Now, FromSoft has released another update for Elden Ring, but it’s not nearly as dramatic as the last patch.

In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, corresponding with the late afternoon in Japan, FromSoft released and revealed patch notes for 1.03.2. This patch, which doesn’t seem to be very big, looks to fix a couple of bugs that were introduced with Elden Ring update 1.03. This isn’t anything new, as game development is often complicated, and an update can unintentionally create bugs instead of nerfing items/fixing them. The speed by which FromSoft has moved to fix these bugs, however, is commendable.

The patch notes only include 4 major bug fixes for Elden Ring, although it’s possible more minor ones were simply omitted but fixed. This update is applicable to all platform, and players will need to install it before playing online.

It seems like the major fixes are pretty big too, as one was preventing some players from advancing a questline, one was causing characters to die, and another was preventing an ability from working. The full patch notes, as released by FromSoft, can be seen below:

  • Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented players from advancing NPC Nepheli Loux’s questline
  • Fixed a bug that causes the playable character to die when trying to descend from a spot near Bestial Sanctum
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Ash of War, Endure from taking effect
  • Fixed a bug in multiplayer that allowed players to teleport others to incorrect map coordinates

It seems that Nepheli Loux’s endgame quest in Elden Ring has had to be adjusted a couple of times. Elden Ring update 1.03 fixed a bug that prevented one side of the quest from being completed, but it seems there was still a point by which some players were getting stuck. Hopefully, this update is all players need to finally finish Nepheli Loux’s questline.

Ash of War, Endure not taking effect is also a big problem, as it is supposed to reduce damage to the player and increase strength scaling for Elden Ring’s best melee and STR-based weapons. Overall, while it is just a few bugs, they are all big bugs that could harm the gameplay experience.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
