Elden Ring is a truly gigantic game, so much so that it can be hard to decide what to do next after clearing a major obstacle. General Radahn is one such crossroads in Elden Ring where players have a few different directions they can go after beating the gravity-manipulating main boss.

After beating General Radahn a handful of new areas unlock, several questlines can be progressed, and of course, there's always the choice between using his Remembrance for equipment or Runes. If you think you're getting close to beating Elden Ring after defeating the Starscourge, think again – the Radahn Festival is barely at the halfway point.

Updated July 30, 2022 by Erik Petrovich: Once the strongest Demigod in Elden Ring has been downed, many players wonder where to go and what to do after beating Radahn. After defeating Radahn with a veritable army of summons, a lot of new paths open up for players to take - most notably, perhaps, the path to Nokron. Players can also progress several questlines, gain entry to Leyndell, and increase their power by using Radahn's Remembrance or by activating Radahn's Great Rune. To activate this Great Rune after Radahn is put to rest, players must go to a Divine Tower. This one is found in the Dragonbarrow, which can be an extremely tough area for underleveled characters.

Progress The Questlines Of Blaidd and Alexander

Elden Ring After Starscourge Radahn Fight Blaidd Questlines

After defeating Starscourge Radahn players will find themselves in an area with Blaidd, Alexander, and others all reminiscing about the fight. Here, you can progress both Blaidd and Alexander's questlines and can get some valuable lore information from other nearby NPCs like Jerren.

Blaidd comments on the Starscourge's "sick way to fight", and Alexander is seen scooping corpses into his pot body to absorb some of their strength, saddened that he was cracked so easily. Blaidd can next be found in the Forlorn Hound Evergaol of the Weeping Peninsula, while Alexander can be found just south of the Carian Study Hall overlooking his former home of Jarburg.

Continue Ranni's Questline In The Newly-Unlocked Nokron

Elden Ring After Starscourge Radahn Fight Nokron

Ranni the Witch is a fan-favorite character in Elden Ring for a lot of reasons, and her questline is one of the most elaborate and jaw-dropping in the game. It's worth taking on, and it can be started by heading to Ranni's Rise in northwest Liurnia just beyond the mini-dungeon of Caria Manor.

After General Radahn is downed, the stars fall back to the Lands Between, no longer held back by the Starscourge's gravitational mastery. One star lands in the Mistwood, and leads to the upper cliffs of the Siofra River leading to Nokron, the Eternal City. To continue Ranni's questline, look for the Fingerslayer Blade in the city hidden behind the Ancestral Woods Site of Lost Grace.

Use His Remembrance For Unique Armaments (Or Runes)

Elden Ring After Starscourge Radahn Fight Remembrance

Giving Enia the Finger Reader the Remembrance of the Starscourge rewards players with either the Starscourge Greatsword, which scales with Int, or the Lion Greatbow. It can also be consumed to gain 30,000 souls, enough to more than tip you over the edge for a few extra levels at this stage of Elden Ring.

The Starscourge Greatsword is really two Greatswords in one and has the unique Starcaller Cry skill, which pulls in enemies with gravitational magic for a devastating double-bladed smash. The Lion Greatbow has the Radahn's Rain skill, which shoots a rain of arrows (preferably Radahn's Spears) that chase the target like in the boss fight.

After Beating Radahn, Restore His Great Rune in the Dragonbarrow

Approaching The Caelid Divine Tower

Radahn's Great Rune is unique - after General Radahn was infected with Scarlet Rot by Malenia, his Great Rune became wreathed in flame to stave off death. After defeating Radahn and getting his Great Rune, it must be activated at its corresponding Divine Tower to gain its effects via Rune Arc. His divine tower is relatively close, found high above in the Dragonbarrow's Divine Tower of Caelid.

The easiest way to get to the Dragonbarrow is to take the teleporter behind the Third Church of Marika (in east Limgrave) to the Bestial Sanctum. This is where players can meet the Beast Clergyman, and it's conveniently located on the far northeast side of the Dragonbarrow. After crossing the Farum Greatbridge to the south, head underneath and follow the road past the Dragonbarrow Cave.

You should see the Divine Tower towering over you here - hug the cliff to avoid the decaying Dragons, turn right at the two dragons in the lake, and follow the outcropping. Then, look down and jump onto a ledge on the Tower's outer wall down below. Make your way up this platforming section to find an elevator that goes straight to the top. It is worth noting, too, that a Godskin Apostle can be found beneath this Divine Tower, though getting to it requires completing a significantly more frustrating platforming segment inside the Tower.

If It's Your Second Great Rune, Head To Leyndell, Royal Capital

Elden Ring After Starscourge Radahn Fight Leyndell

Downing General Radahn typically grants the third Great Rune, though there are plenty of Elden Ring players who have skipped Godrick or Rennala to take on the Starscourge faster. If General Radahn gives you your second Great Rune, the barrier blocking the way to Leyndell, Royal Capital will be removed.

This is atypical because most players will take on Godrick and then Rennala to unlock access to the Royal Capital. If you've gone out of your way to avoid the first few major bosses of Elden Ring, though, downing Radahn could mean gaining access to the Altus Plateau, Mt Gelmir, and Leyndell early - a super useful tactic for getting mid-game Bell Bearings early.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
