Elden Ring features an incredibly in-depth character creator, something that has allowed gamers to make anything they want to. As such, one Elden Ring player has decided to transform their Tarnished into Sonic the Hedgehog, resulting in a truly strange video that is worth a look.

Obviously, this is hardly the first time that players have created another video game character within Elden Ring. Kratos has been made through the game’s creation tools, with the player that designed the Ghost of Sparta even using weapons and incantations that resemble his moveset from the God of War games. Fable’s Jack of Blades has been made within Elden Ring, as has Venom Snake from Metal Gear Solid 5. However, all of these creations were as accurate as they could possibly be, which cannot be said for the Sonic design.

To be fair, making a fully accurate Sonic is not possible with the tools given to players in Elden Ring, so the result was always going to be comparable to something like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle designs. Still, there is a lot about this Sonic design that makes it disturbing, with AverageERenjoyer’s character sure to get a laugh out of players. Not only does a human-sized Sonic look strange with white fur going down its back, but its face is extremely silly.

While Sonic’s spiky fur is not possible to imitate, the Redditor does their best by giving him long blue hair. Instead of massive eyes, Sonic gets some wide eyes placed all the way on the side of his head, with a small nose and white eyebrows present alongside a white mouth. Seeing this emotionless version of Sonic the Hedgehog stare directly into the camera makes for quite the sight, and while this would have been memorable on its own, the Redditor decided to feature their Sonic in a stunning video that took five hours to create.

In the thirty-second clip, players get a look at just about every environment featured within the Lands Between. Players get a look at Stormveil Castle, the unsettling Caelid, and Windmill Village’s dancing Celebrants. A particularly fun shot sees an Erdtree Avatar about to attack, with the camera cutting away before the recurring boss can land a hit. The burning Erdtree can be seen as well as one of the rolling traps in the dungeons, and the clip has a hilarious ending where the Soldier of Godrick kills the Sonic impersonator.

Overall, this clip is a perfect representation of the journey players go on in FromSoftware’s latest game, with excellent editing and a fun song choice coming together to make the video special. However, having such an odd character design focused on at all times makes for a unique tone, as the clip manages to be both cool and goofy at the same time.

Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
