Most of Elden Ring's armaments, spells, incantations, and Ash of War skills are scattered about the Lands Between. Some items are procured from a simple loot drop that players can run or ride past, while others are kept hidden within a chest or Teardrop Scarab until players retrieve them.

Elden Ring's Ashes of War are crucial for players who rely on special abilities or attacks that offer them a unique play style or buff to their current builds. As an action RPG with many unique build opportunities, there are dynamic combinations of armaments and skills players can match to create sometimes excessive procurement statuses and exploit an affinity to their most effective state. If players wish to benefit from their blood-loss build-up, for example, they should look into how to get the Seppuku Ash of War.

How to Get the Seppuku Ash of War in Elden Ring

In order to find Elden Ring's Seppuku Ash of War, players must first reach the Mountaintops of the Giants. This effectively means that players will have needed to complete a fair bit of Elden Ring before they can claim the Seppuku Ash of War, due to the fact that players are obstructed from the Lands Between's northeastern snowy peaks until they defeat Morgott.

But once players have access to this area, the Ash of War is free to take and resides at the top-most corner, closest to the Freezing Lake site of grace.

After the hard part is done and mandatory progression has been completed, players need only reach the Freezing Lake. The Seppuku Ash of War is retrieved from an invisible Teardrop Scarab on the frozen lake's shore not too far from this site of grace, near a hill outcrop beside the cliff's edge, so it is ripe for the picking.

Fortunately, a simple trick in Elden Ring helps when trying to catch invisible Teardrop Scarabs if players have trouble timing their attacks as the Scarabs follow predetermined routes.

Moreover, it should be noted that because the armament is penetrated into the player character's stomach as part of Seppuku's animation, they will suffer a bit of damage dealt to their health when activated. However, the buffed status effect should be more than an incentive to do so if the player has concentrated their build around the blood affinity.

Seppuku can be applied to many armaments, but it marries intentionally to blood-loss builds and armaments such as the samurai class' katana, the Uchigatana, or Bloody Finger Hunter Yura's Nagakiba.

It is also advised that players keep to the left of the frozen lake to avoid the spawn point of Elden Ring's Borealis the Freezing Fog, who appears in a chilly mist that blankets the lake once players step too far out onto it. Thankfully, this boss can be avoided entirely.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
