There are a few things in Elden Ring that affect how a character looks. The character creation menu is FromSoftware's most extensive and customizable yet, but there are things in Elden Ring outside of this customization screen that make changes to your appearance that you might not want.

There are a few ways to undo these appearance changes, though these are only cosmetic changes. You cannot un-inherit the Frenzied Flame by reverting your yellow eyes back to normal, nor can you remove the red eyes of a Bloody Finger by taking eye drops. There are some ways to revert story choices, but if cosmetics are all you're worried about, there are two methods to undo aesthetic changes.

Some Decisions Can Change The Way Your Character Looks

Elden Ring doesn't have Covenants, at least not the same way that Dark Souls did. In the Dark Souls games players could pledge themselves to a covenant and receive rewards (and sometimes cosmetic changes) for their loyalty. In Elden Ring Covenants are more secretive and don't necessarily work like a tier system.

To become a Bloody Finger, for example, players need to progress Varre's questline and dedicate themselves to the Lord of Blood. To become one of the Frenzied, players need to locate the Three Fingers. These decisions both change your eye color and iris shape, and though there are other factors that affect the way your character looks, all cosmetics can be reverted the same way.

How To Change Your Eyes Back To Normal In Elden Ring

To reset your eyes in Elden Ring head to either Roundtable Hold or the Grand Library of Raya Lucaria, provided you have defeated Rennala. In Roundtable Hold the mirror in Fia's room can be used to alter your character's appearance and name at any time - by talking to Rennala instead, players are still brought to the same customization menu without consuming a Larval Tear.

Head to the face editor and select the "Eyes" option. At the very bottom of this list is the option for Eye Alterations. This can be toggled on or off, and when you switch it to Off, your eyes will return to their original color and iris shape. You cannot choose between which eyes you want to have, though, as your character always defers to the last custom eye appearance obtained. To use the previous example, you can become a Bloody Finger to get Red eyes, then become the Lord of the Frenzied Flame which will overwrite the eye color to be yellow.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
