Elden Ring was first revealed at Microsoft's E3 2019 press conference, and since then, fans have seen virtually nothing of the game. Despite there being next to no Elden Ring news since its official reveal, the game is still hotly anticipated, to the point that it was crowned the Most Anticipated Game at The Game Awards 2020. Luckily, it seems as though Elden Ring fans may be able to play the game in the somewhat near future, as it is apparently set to launch this fiscal year.

Industry insider Okami shared some information from a recent investor call that shed more light on Elden RingElden Ring is being described as FromSoftware's biggest game yet "in terms of sheer volume." What exactly this means remains unclear, but it could be in reference to Elden Ring's open field concept, which is generally believed to offer bigger areas than what fans may be used to from the Dark Souls series. Alternatively, it could just be in reference to the scope of Elden Ring when compared to other games that the studio has developed.

Besides hailing Elden Ring as FromSoftware's biggest game to date, the investor call also claimed that the game is a "priority release" that will launch within this fiscal year. The fiscal year ends March 2022, and so barring any unforeseen delays or other issues, that means Elden Ring fans should be playing the highly anticipated game within the next 12 months or so.

A more specific Elden Ring release date has yet to be revealed, but it's still nice for fans to get this release window. It's always possible that Elden Ring could get delayed and fans will have to wait even longer to get their hands on the game, but hopefully development continues to progress well and FromSoftware fans will get to play it sooner rather than later.

As for when the next Elden Ring reveal will take place, that remains to be seen. Previously, it was believed that an Elden Ring reveal trailer would drop in March, but that didn't happen after some footage of the game leaked online. The next best guess is that more Elden Ring footage will be revealed at E3 2021, either through the rumored Bandai Namco presentation or during the confirmed Xbox press conference.

Some leaked information suggests that an Elden Ring E3 2021 reveal will specifically take place on June 14, though that has yet to be confirmed by anyone official. For now, Elden Ring fans can keep their fingers crossed that they'll get to see the game come the big event this summer and standby for more information.

Elden Ring is in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
